Are you looking to join a leader in the Seafood Industry? Our client, prides themselves in providing the healthiest proteins in the industry. They are currently seeking a Key Account Manager located preferably in Seattle, Portland or in other selected cities in the Western United States.
The Key Account Manager is responsible for managing sales and customer projects for their Foodservice and Retail accounts.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for fixing margin and sales issues within certain existing accounts as instructed by Sales Manager
- Be a role model in projecting and applying company philosophy and promote teamwork at all times
- Learn and operate the weekly bids systems within AS400
- Project/forecast category sales and margin for annual budget plan
- Assist with related marketing programs, as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Achieve volume and margin plans, as well as, other goals
- Monitor Food Service sales activities and relate the information to the appropriate manager
- Identify and sell new National/Key Foodservice accounts (Ex. regional/national chains, distributors, redistributors and group purchasing organizations)
- Communicate all relevant enhancements to promotions, programs, policies and procedures in a timely manner to the respective accounts
- Increase sales through the placement of additional line items
- Conduct new item presentations in a professional manner
- Assist in determining customer needs
- Identify and generate new key customers, while increasing demand in existing accounts
- Build account profiles and service customers while strengthening the image and distribution of company products and brands
- Manage and maintain account base
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Ability to travel up to 40%
- Working knowledge of both fresh and frozen protein products required
- Excellent communication skills
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Bilingual English and Spanish helpful
- Ability to present a financial/business acumen at all times
- Knowledge of order processing systems
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams)
- 5+ years Foodservice Sales experience preferably in the Seafood/Protein Industry
- Strong strategic/consultive selling and negotiation skills a must
- Leadership/People management skills a must
- Retail experience in protein sales a plus (Ideal candidate has experience in both foodservice and retail protein sales)
- Position is preferably located in Seattle, Portland or other selected cities in the Western United States
