The Key Account Manager role is responsible for handling the chain account business within the central region. This position serves as a direct point of contact for the assigned account base and is sales growth and retail execution focused. This position is tasked with expanding upon current business, gaining new retail placements, and obtaining company objectives by various methods including, but not limited to: relationship building, retail planning, conducting sales calls and business reviews, trade work-withs, market surveys, and ensuring execution against all chain activity.


Areas of Responsibilities:

• Establish & achieve volume growth targets across the assigned portfolio.

• Responsible for achieving customer volume and distribution goals.

• Expand on, and off-premise chain accounts in key geographical areas through increased availability & distribution.

• Responsible for establishing & ensuring execution against all in-store programming, including features, displays, and TPRs.

• Grow ROI through increased promotions & effective price management.

• Deliver consistent, timely communication both internally & externally on all chain activity.

• Utilize sales tools (Nielsen, IRI, VIP) to develop, communicate and execute national account strategy.

• Thoughtfully utilize marketing support (POS & Programming) to increase chain ROI.

• Responsible for all store-level education & support.

• Establish and/or maintain relationships with Distributor KAMS.

• Work closely with Distributors on established & new market opportunities.

• Establish execution standards & goals. Track against progress.

• Prepare and distribute monthly customer performance reviews & post promotion analyses.

• Perform administrative duties in a timely manner, including, but not limited to, expense reports, pricing surveys, programming announcements, etc.


Skills/Qualifications:

• 5+ years of industry experience

• Chain/Key Account experience is a must.

• Preference is given to candidates with key relationships in the Midwest (Jewel Osco, Big Red Liquor, Giant Eagle, Liquor Barn)

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.

• Solid working understanding of critical sales tools, including Nielsen, IRI, and VIP.

• Ability to provide timely, creative & unconventional solutions.

• Ability to vertically penetrate and establish key account relationships.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time and multiple projects with great attention to detail.

• Requires strong customer service & communication skills.

• Forward thinker who actively seeks opportunities and proposes solutions.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
