Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the revision of our K-12 Computer Science Standards. This exciting role involves managing a rigorous process that includes extensive community involvement and research. As the Project Manager, you will guide the design and implementation of the "Bridge to Postsecondary Computer Science" project, which is funded by the National Science Foundation. This project aims to shape the future of high school computer science education and influence curriculum content nationwide.
Responsibilities
Project Implementation: Ensure successful execution of the "Bridge to Postsecondary CS" project by overseeing day-to-day operations, tracking progress, and meeting project objectives.
Community Convenings: Plan and facilitate three K-12 CS education community convenings.
Steering Committee: Conduct regular meetings with the steering committee, making key decisions and providing guidance to project activities.
Research and Reporting: Synthesize project outcomes and recommendations, collaborating with a Report Writer, Designer, research team, and steering committee to publish reports and supporting materials.
Advisory Board Meetings: Plan and facilitate external advisory board meetings to review project progress, collaboration, and provide feedback on the standards revision process.
Reporting and Collaboration: Work closely with the PI, research team, and Grants Administrator to manage reporting to sponsors, including progress reports and financial compliance. Collaborate on scientific publications and grant submissions.
Experience & Qualifications
Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple tasks, work with stakeholders, and maintain attention to detail.
Excellent critical thinking and judgment, with a positive and proactive approach to continuously improving methods and procedures.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in education, computer science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Ability to plan and facilitate meetings with clear objectives, agendas, and collaborative structures.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including virtual interfaces and presenting information to groups.
Comfort with remote work environments and proficiency in Google Workspace, videoconferencing tools, project management software, and electronic communications.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience teaching K-12 computer science.
Knowledge of K-12 standards and curriculum development.
Proficiency in designing and facilitating educational research activities, synthesizing findings, and presenting them effectively.
