Junior Designer Jobs

The Junior Designer will support the lead designers and other staff to successfully plan and execute multiple client projects, both residential and boutique commercial.

Job duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Assist in developing and maintaining detailed budgets and schedules
• Create project presentations both digitally and with physical materials and samples
• Coordinate deliveries and installations
• Correspond with architects, builders and sub-contractors as needed
• Attend vendor and showroom rep meetings
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously including expediting, construction and finish schedules, action items, budgets, drawings, installation, etc.
• Interact with clients in a professional manner and contribute to creating positive and lasting relationships
• Execute design direction to produce all necessary architectural documents and shop drawings
• Schedule and attend project meetings, take accurate notes and distribute post-meeting
• Maintain organized client network files
• Assist senior designers in sourcing and pricing furnishings, fabrics, lighting, products, and materials
• Identify and research new vendor and material possibilities
• Help maintain materials library in office
• Visit vendors and job sites to check on production
• Work with vendors on price, availability and custom options and details as needed

Requirements

• Strong attention to detail
• Degree in architecture or interior design
• A sense of humor, flexibility, curiosity, and great taste
• Strong organizational and proven project management skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Basic knowledge of construction documentation and procedures
• Ability to take direction in the execution of projects and provide support wherever necessary
• Computer skills and experience with the basics – (AutoCAD, Google Drive: Docs, Sheets, InDesign, 3D rendering software, Adobe Creative Suite)
• 2 to 3 years experience at an interior design, architecture or construction firm
