IDG+ Architects is currently seeking a talented Designer II to join our team. The ideal candidate will contribute and assist in developing projects and design solutions to advance various projects while working independently with guidance. They should be eager to learn and innovate and anticipate job expectations while performing design and technical tasks requiring the application of standard techniques and knowledge.
Responsibilities:
- Modify or create design and construction documents by applying standard architectural techniques and procedures, according to specifications, with general supervision.
- Assist in preparing and presenting client presentations.
- Assist project designers with material, product, and systems research.
- Support research of code and zoning requirements.
- Attend on-site visits, analysis, and meetings, as well as provide the appropriate meeting minutes and documentation.
- Assist in preparing schedules and reviewing design and construction documents and material samples.
- Communicate with consultants, vendors, and contractors to incorporate information into design and construction documents.
- Provide guidance and direction to entry-level staff.
- Participate in team meetings to discuss project issues, design and technical issues, and coordination with consultants.
- Understand the financial implications of overhead and chargeable time, including accountability to project schedule and utilization rate.
- Understands the importance of growing and maintaining client relationships and the basic concept of business development
- Assists in pursuit of new job opportunities either through relationship development or identifying additional work from existing clients
Qualifications:
- Accredited professional degree in Architecture.
- Actively pursuing Architectural Registration.
- 3-5 years of professional work experience.
- Sustainable design accreditation preferred.
- Experience in architectural software such as Revit, Rhino 3D modeling, and Grasshopper preferred.
- Experience in Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign graphic software preferred.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite preferred.
- Knowledge of sustainability and integrated design guidelines.
- Knowledge of QA/QC process and building codes.
- Ability to communicate in a clear, concise, and professional manner both verbally and in writing.
