Job Summary

To support the business requirements through the development and design of new/modified applications in compliance to Pella Standards. Work with the business analysts to design, develop and maintain technical interfaces from various systems, report modifications, forms modifications, or any other modification that requires technical assistance in order to meet a business need.

Essential Responsibilities

Percentages represent guidelines only; May vary by position and fluctuate due to changing business needs.

• Other duties may be assigned.
• Responsibilities outside of normal business hours: On-call rotation as assigned. Support for implementations of projects assigned will occur on weekends.
• 10% - Capacity/performance management – Besides conducting performance reviews of his/her own code begins doing reviews for associate analysts.
• 5% - Project management – Development and coordination of small project tasks or assist other team members in developing project plans for larger projects.
• 15% - Technical design work – Technical specifications and analysis is limited to a single program/procedure/function. Work to be reviewed with Sr. Analyst/Expert or manager.
• 30% - Day to day support of existing environment – Production issue resolution (alerts, tickets, requests from analysts). Team member is comfortable taking on issues related to areas of the system he/she has worked with before. Begins taking on non-critical production issues in areas where he/she has not worked before.
• 5% - Documentation and support handoff – Produce documentation to turn over to functional analyst or Sr. Analyst/Expert to be saved to appropriate location. Provides appropriate technical documentation.
• Supervisory Responsibilities: None
• 35% - Code development – Develop code based on the technical design specifications. Perform initial code checkout. Communicate status to parties involved. Familiar with many standards and is capable of developing across a most of the tools available.

Specific Responsibilities And Requirements

Responsibilities: Partners with business stakeholders to scope, define, and design requirements for Pella’s order acquisition systems. Additional responsibilities may include the following:

• Performs performance reviews of the code he/she has developed before passing it along for final approval.
• Writing business rules or doing other system configuration work.
• Preparing and monitoring reports and metrics.
• Translating complex requirements into system-supported logic
• Creating and documenting systems specifications
• Problem solving
• Support releases / updates
• Project management
• Estimating work requirements
• Providing training as required
• Reviews technical specifications with lead developer and business analyst
• Testing
• Managing priorities in conjunction with the business
• Understanding/supporting internal and external data integrations with OE systems
• Deliver high quality releases per team commitments
• Adhering to data standards

Technical / functional skills (includes computer skills): Pella product / distribution knowledge, PQM(Paradigm CenterPoint), M2O, MS Visual Studio, SQL, Microsoft office / projects, Data warehouse tools, Visual basic scripting. Good understanding of relational databases. Strong leadership, organization and project management skills, and ability to communicate technical requirements effectively to non-technical team members.
