Job Description

Job description

This position is ideal for an autonomous self-starter with strong troubleshooting skills who can manage the scheduling of his/her time. While the position is 80% remote, it does require client-site visits from time to time. When not at client sites, remote support shall be provided from the office in New York City, with a hybrid work-from-home arrangement. Our clients are hotels, and they’re mostly very pleasant to work with.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, upgrade, and install PCs, parts and peripherals.
  • Administer Microsoft 365: manage accounts/licensing, mail-flows, MFA.
  • Collaboratively create and implement SOPs by tapping into knowledge and experience.
  • Document issues, problem-solving processes, and solutions in a knowledge-base format. Suggest improvements.
  • Execute projects such as internet cutovers, server upgrades, NAS installs.
  • Familiarity with networks and Windows Server, troubleshoot issues.
  • Respond to tickets and alerts.
  • Experience with hotel IT systems and/or the hotel environment is a big plus!
  • Provide remote and onsite technical support for users: troubleshooting desktop issues, application support.

Required Soft Skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Critically think and problem-solve in a fast-paced environment. Able to see the big picture and arrive at solutions using good judgment.
  • Ability to articulate technical information clearly and simply to non-technical people.
  • Enjoys working with people, both clients and internal teams. Cordial, patient, and empathetic with clients and vendors. Retail or hospitality experience would be best.

Required Technical Skills

  • Microsoft Windows (server and desktop), Microsoft Outlook and the Office Suite
  • Previous experience working for an MSP, or as an IT consultant supporting multiple clients with 3-5 years of professional experience.
  • Hardware installation and troubleshooting
  • Networking infrastructure & equipment including firewalls, routers, managed switches, VLANs, WLANs, TCP/IP protocols.
  • General working knowledge of PSA / RMM / ticketing systems
  • Server hardware and technologies: RAID, iLO / iDrac, bare-metal restores, backup methodologies
  • Microsoft 365 administration
  • Active Directory administration / GPO
