The SPA Information Technology (IT) Department consists of over 30 IT professionals across the full spectrum of IT disciplines: end user support, systems administration, network operations, cybersecurity, classified systems administration, and policy & compliance.

The IT Support Team provides critical day-to-day operational maintenance, software installation, and end-user services. It offers great opportunities for those who are starting their IT career and those looking to build their qualifications and experience:

Responsibilities:
The Help Desk Specialist, as part of the IT Help Desk team, will perform day-to-day operational maintenance, installation, and support of end user laptops and workstations. The Help Desk Specialist will perform troubleshooting of hardware and software, and work with other members of the IT team on any complex issues they cannot resolve independently. They will monitor the Help Desk including e-mail requests, answering telephone calls, and ticket management.

The Help Desk Specialist will monitor the status of conference room Audio Visual (AV) systems and provide training and support to end users on the use of AV systems as necessary. They will perform troubleshooting of AV hardware and software, and work with work with other members of the IT team on any complex issues they cannot resolve independently.

The IT Help Desk team members also help to safeguard the network against unauthorized infiltration, modification, destruction or disclosure. The candidate will implement, enforce, and communicate security policies or plans for data, software applications, hardware, and telecommunications, and may research, evaluate, test, recommend, communicate and implement new security software or devices.
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
  • Experience configuring or troubleshooting conferencing and video distribution system equipment.
  • Ability to lift 25 pounds.
  • U.S. citizenship is required; must be eligible to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
  • Experience installing software, printers, and network devices.
  • 2 - 4+ years of IT support / help desk experience in a Windows/AD environment.
  • High school diploma.
  • Experience working in Microsoft Office programs and Windows 10 desktop operating systems.

Desired Qualifications:
  • One or more of the following professional certifications: A+ CE, Network+ CE, Security+ CE, Microsoft Associate.
  • College credit or Information Technology (IT) technical coursework.
  • Proven customer service experience.
The salary range for this position is $65,000 to $90,000 per year.
