Inventory Accountant Jobs

Position Summary
The Inventory Accountant provides support to the accounting group around real estate inventory processes. This role is responsible for the preparation of journal entries related to acquisitions and sales of real estate inventory and supporting the Accounts Payable function with review and processing of property-related invoices and vendor onboarding.
Essential Functions

• Provide monthly analysis of inventory variances. Research inventory discrepancies and recommend solutions to management.
• Manage documents and ensure files are electronically stored.
• Assure that proper procedures are adhered to and that adjustments are made in a timely and accurate manner.
• Review invoices for property expenses and enter them in the financial system.
• Tie out settlement statements to cash paid or received.
• Assist with onboarding vendors within Offerpads accounting system.
• Assist with projects and other duties as assigned.
• Work with title agencies to resolve incorrect settlement statement information or to request other supporting documentation.
• Input data from property settlement statements into Excel files for uploading to the financial system.
• Provides management with timely and accurate inventory and production reports at month end for financial reporting.

Required Experience
Minimum Qualifications

• Pursuing an AA or BS in Accounting, Finance, or Business or 1-2 years of experience working in an accounting environment.
• Ability to process information with a high level of accuracy.
• Understanding of the necessity and value of accuracy and attention to detail.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to work independently, identify problems and propose creative solutions.
• Strong background in reporting and financial analysis.
• Ability to change and adapt.
• Excellent communication (oral and written) skills.
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, and make effective judgments as to prioritizing and time allocation.
• Must be a team player, highly motivated, and eager to learn.
• Strong computer skills, particularly in MS Office, including advanced proficiency with MS Excel.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous real estate experience a plus
