Job Description
THE POSITION

The Office of the Budget, Bureau of Accounting and Financial Management is seeking an Accountant 3. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will report to the Transportation team manager in the General Accounting Division of the Bureau of Accounting and Financial Management. You will provide professional analysis, control, and guidance in government financial and budgetary accounting and reporting; therefore, ensuring ongoing governmental transparency, legal, and fiscal accountability, and appropriate use of Commonwealth resources. You will also supervise one Executive Accounting Specialist and one Accountant 1 position.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
  • Work hours are 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may be expected to work from home (telework) full-time, with occasional in-office days when work dictates such requirements. Please keep in mind that while this is a full-time telework position, that can change at any time at the Governor's discretion. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
  • One year as an Accountant 2; or
  • Four years of bookkeeping experience and fifteen college credits in accounting may be substituted for college graduation. A Master's degree in Accounting or a related field may be substituted for one year of general work experience.
  • Three years of progressively responsible professional accounting experience, and graduation from a four-year college or university, including or supplemented by fifteen credits in accounting.

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
