Our client is looking for an Interface Analyst who is certified in both Rhapsody and Epic Bridges.
Job Summary:
The Interface Analyst position will be housed under a subsidiary organization of our client. Under the direction of the Director of Population Health & Data Quality, on the Interface Team, this highly motivated individual will play a critical team role working with stakeholders to provide development and rapid response monitoring for interfaces. This position will support, maintain, and develop HL7 Interfaces utilizing the Rhapsody Interface Engine and Bridges application in Epic. The Interface Analyst will be able to autonomously project manage new interface projects once scoped, from evaluating user requirements for interface development to design, development, and maintenance of interfaces in a complex and heterogeneous IT environment that supports 12 community health centers. Other duties will include supporting data courier, developing and maintaining interface support documentation, building in Rhapsody according to the standards set by the team, and providing support to various IT related projects as needed. This position requires a team player with an accomplished technology background in interface development and implementation, a learning attitude, and a heart to help improve lives through quality health IT.
Responsibilities
- Investigates errors on a timely basis and use reporting tools to detect patterns efficiently
- Coaches health center staff to the need for health center-specific interface vendor repair or investigation
- Acts as liaison between health center and vendor for organization-wide interface vendors
- Responds to escalations with timely answers and/or referral to appropriate team/person
- Participates with application teams in the planning and implementation stages of a new interface, including scoping connectivity in an Epic Hosted instance and cutover planning
- Evaluates opportunities for optimization to benefit health center operations and patient care
- Collaborates with IT to engage networking teams as needed for VPN tunnel build and troubleshooting
- Escalates interface project roadblocks and safety events/risks to leadership promptly
- Assists in the development of interface policies and procedures and notify users as appropriate
- Participates in on-call rotation for interfaces
- Documents progress in Bridges error resolution planner, project tracking tools, and tickets
- Designs and develops HL7 interfaces in collaboration with application teams, health center partners, and vendors within approved scope
- Maintains healthy interfaces in Rhapsody and Bridges by working errors efficiently as a team
- Supports broader team as a DC admin about 3-5 hours/week on average, shared by team
- Manages the entire cycle of interface application development, including analysis, design, specification, configuration, install and implementation, testing, go live, and support and proactive monitoring with the team
- Clears out Rhapsody errors daily, manages Bridges errors and competing priorities as a team
- Sustains working knowledge of key functions of all aspects of the department in order to provide emergency coverage in the absence of others in the department
- Maintains good system documentation to define interface scope, design, and major changes
- Coordinates with Reporting Analysts to provide expertise in the development of reports and analyses
- Manages Nova notes of Epic changes that impact interfaces
- Responds to internal and external project/issue communications daily as appropriate
- Supports designated health center personnel’s ability to understand and manage patient validation and interface routing errors
Required Skills
- Strong project management and organizational skills
- Excellent analytical and technical troubleshooting skills
- Ability to understand, analyze, document, and explain interface processes as they relate to clinical operations, quality measures, and KPIs
- On-call rotation with the team will be a requirement for this position
Desired Skills
- Clinical background (i.e., RN, lab tech, MA) would be a plus
- Additional Epic certifications preferred include Ambulatory, Cogito, Clarity, DC Admin
- Knowledge of SQL and programming
- Experience working in a healthcare organization
- Experience with FHIR
- Familiarity with Federally Qualified Health Centers / Community Health Centers
Qualifications
- Epic certification in Bridges
- 3-5 years’ experience working as an Application Analyst with an Electronic Health Record or in a healthcare related position
- Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare-related field, Information Systems or Business Management
- Rhapsody Associates certification and at least 2 years’ experience using Rhapsody
