JOB OBJECTIVE

The Insulation Specialist will be responsible for installing and maintaining insulation systems. The Industrial Insulation Specialist will be responsible for evaluating insulation needs, selecting appropriate materials, and executing insulation installation projects to maximize energy efficiency and optimize thermal comfort.

REQUIREMENTS

EXPERIENCE
  • Must have knowledge of materials, tools, and processes involved with basic building techniques and form construction.
  • Must have 3-5+ years of experience in the construction industry.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Must be able to read blueprints, plans, and drawings proficiently to perform duties.
  • Must be able to compute basic arithmetic functions, measure, mark, and cut equipment and materials to specification.
  • Must be able to work a full work schedule and any additional overtime with little to no notification.
  • Must pass drug test and background check.
  • Must have a valid Driver's License.
  • Must have experience with Piping, Refineries or Construction Industry.
  • Must be able to Read and understand diagrams, and piping isometrics.

KNOWLEDGE
  • Knowledge of materials, methods, and the different types of tools involved in insulation.
  • Finish insulation using sealants, tape, cement, and metals.
  • Understand blueprints, sketches.
  • Insulate, cover, wrap, staple, glue, fit insulating materials.
  • Advanced knowledge of Insulation process and methods.
  • Measure, shape and cut materials to specified measurements.
  • Attends training sessions, seminars, and appropriate educational classes required by department.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of Hazardous Materials and Safety Regulations and industry practices related to materials and equipment use and operation.
  • Knowledge of design, principles, and technical plans such as blueprints and drawings.
  • Ability to use time efficiently to complete projects/assignments on time.
  • Ability to handle stress and possess positive attitude even in difficult or challenging situations.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
  • High School Diploma or equivalent

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Employee will be required to adhere to large amounts of standing, walking, bending, squatting, sitting, and lifting.
  • Must be able to work in all weather conditions (including heat, rain, cold and wind) while wearing appropriate PPE.
  • Will use arms and hands to signal, grab, hold, turn, push, and pull objects, materials, controls and tools.
  • Will be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to: hard hat, safety glasses/spoggles, ear plugs, masks/respirators, hi-vis safety vests, leather gloves and leather steel-toed work boots.
  • Will work at heights, climb ladders and stairways, and may occasionally work off platforms/scaffolding using the appropriate fall protection requirements.
  • May be required to pick up, lift, carry and move up to 50lbs.
  • Will talk and hear to communicate.
