Summary:

Wires, installs, troubleshoots and tests instruments and PLCs by performing the following duties:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Pulls wiring through conduit and labels appropriately.
• Measures, cuts, bends, threads, assembles and installs electrical conduit.
• Mounts instruments and PLCs in panels using a variety of hand tools.
• Standard tools used include hand tools, power tools (saws, drills), machinery (conduit cutters), multimeters, tubing bender and cutters.
• Working from diagrams and schematics, wires instruments to prepare the site for automation system design and programming.
• Observes functioning of installed equipment or system to detect hazards and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement.
• Tests continuity of circuit to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components with testing instruments such as (ohm, volt, amp) meter, voltmeter, ampmeter and/or multimeter.
• Connects wiring to controllers and instruments.
• Installs tubing for instruments.
• Travel may be required depending on the project.
