Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Study operations sequence, material flow, functional statements, organization charts, and project information to determine worker functions and responsibilities.
- Analyze statistical data and product specifications to determine standards and establish quality and reliability objectives of finished products.
- Estimate production cost and effect of product design changes for management review, action, and control.
- Draft and design layout of equipment, materials, and workspace to illustrate maximum efficiency, using drafting tools and computer.
- Plan and establish the sequence of operations to fabricate and assemble parts or products and to promote efficient utilization.
- Review production schedules, engineering specifications, orders, and related information to obtain knowledge of manufacturing methods, procedures, and activities.
- Coordinate quality control objectives and activities to resolve production problems, maximize product reliability and minimize cost.
- Abide by and adhere to all ethics and labor guidelines as set forth by the company.
- Apply statistical methods and perform mathematical calculations to determine manufacturing processes, staff requirements, and production standards.
- Develop manufacturing methods, labor utilization standards, and cost analysis systems to promote efficient staff and facility utilization.
- Direct workers engaged in product measurement, inspection, and testing activities to ensure quality control and reliability.
- Implement methods and procedures for the disposition of discrepant material and defective or damaged parts, and assess cost and responsibility.
- Communicate with management and user personnel to develop production and design standards and implement Kaizen project improvements.
- Evaluate precision and accuracy of production and testing equipment and engineering drawings to formulate corrective action plans.
- Ensure compliance with Environment Health & Safety requirements.
Education and Experience:
- Experience with AutoCAD preferred
- 1-3 years of Engineering experience
- Engineering Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong interpersonal leadership skills to motivate others, manage change, and embed continuous improvement culture
- Ability to handle multiple tasks
- Willingness to learn from and collaborate with operators and shop floor associates
- Proficient in using MS Office suite
- Knowledge of Kaizen and Lean Management
- Comfortable working in an international environment
- Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in the production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes
- Strong organizational and planning skills
- Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other relevant Environmental Health & Safety regulations at the local, state, and federal levels
- Excellent learning ability
- Knowledge of operations and lean manufacturing tools and principles
- Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods
- Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology, including applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services
- Strong analytical skills, used to analyze processes and material flow and understand the financial impact
- Mandarin Chinese ability is a plus
