Our client is seeking an experienced HR Manager to work remotely. The successful candidate must be a US Citizen, have at least a bachelor's degree, have worked in a smaller company, and have experience in an IT environment (Software, IT services, consulting, etc.). In addition, must have experience interacting within a remote workforce, experience using HRIS/ HCM systems, and a minimum of five years of human resource MANAGEMENT experience. Commercial and government experience a plus!
POSITION SUMMARY
The experienced Human Resources Manager will independently manage the daily functions of Human Resources (HR) including full cycle recruiting, benefits, leave administration, HR policy management and development of HR and organizational best practices. This position will also assist the CEO in staff activities such as quarterly and annual performance reviews, performance and disciplinary assessments, staff professional development, individual professional development, organizational culture, and employee morale initiatives, etc. This position has a matrix reporting structure and will report to the CEO for general HR responsibilities and the Director of Finance for payroll and benefits responsibilities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs, including but not limited to ormance and talent management, employee recognition, and morale initiatives, occupaticompensation, benefits, leave, employee relations, disputes and investigations, personal health and safety, and training and development.
- Receive employment-related inquiries from applicants and employees, respond to simple and routine inquiries and refer complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate leadership.
- Recruit, interview, and facilitate the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with hiring manager to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
- Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
- Assist with payroll processing as directed.
- Implement new hire on-boarding and orientation. This will include the documentation of 30-60-90- day objectives and evaluations.
- Manage and provide support for employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; ensures legal review of policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Manage the process for employee background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
- Manage and provide support for activities and programs pertaining to employee morale and company culture initiatives.
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned including o Staff activities and wellness
- Maintain digital copies of employee personnel files.
- Review, track, and document compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, antiharassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications.
- Conduct exit interviews and provide a summary to the hiring manager and CEO of any relevant issues.
o Assist with identifying, coordinating, and participating in all-staff professional development
o Assist employees with professional development needs o Initiatives pertaining to organizational culture and employee morale

- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines and work independently in a remote environment.
- Experience with personnel and compliance records management.
- Ability to work independently without day-to-day oversight.
EDUCATION EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Experience with a remote workforce is required.
- Proficient in using HRIS/ HCM systems.
- A minimum of five years of human resource management experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or higher or related field is preferred and documented education pertaining to human resource management.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Experience with Paychex Flex Payroll/ HR software a plus.
- Experience in an information technology environment.
