The Human resource Specialist will ensure accurate processing and recording of company’s payroll, provide timely and accurate financial information, and participate in data entry Payroll processing. Important to this position is strong communication skills across co-workers, clients, and employees.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

·Manage workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely (we use Paylocity) for both biweekly and weekly U.S. payrolls.

·Manage & process bi-weekly Canadian payroll via ADP.

·Issue off-cycle and alternative pay methods as needed.

·Audit & Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports.

·Execute time and attendance processing and interface with payroll.

·Audit & ensure new-hire documents are entered in payroll system accurately.

·Review deductions (e.g., benefits, garnishments) are taken from pay accurately.

·Process accurate and timely year-end reporting when necessary.

·Develop ad hoc financial and operational reporting as needed.

·Load import files, research & email appropriate audience of file issues.

·Respond to employee inquiries.

·Ensure electronic or mail delivery of W-2 & 1095-c forms by annual deadline.

·Provide documentation of employee records for unemployment claims & virtually attend hearings as needed.

·Audit & maintain accurate work-comp codes & report payroll to work-comp carrier weekly.

·Assist with delivery of employee benefits programs including preparing communication materials & facilitating annual & new hire enrolment.

·Maintain enrolment data in payroll & various provider/vendor enrolment systems.

·Reconcile all monthly benefit enrolments & deductions to benefit invoices.

·Assist HR Manager with projects as needed Qualifications.

·Associate degree or higher in a related field.

·CPP preferred but not required.

·2+ years of experience processing multi-state payroll using payroll systems (we use Paylocity).

·Working knowledge of payroll best practices.
