Job Description
The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for implementing and administering the human resources function for the company. The human resources generalist will have both administrative and strategic responsibilities, and will help with important functions such as staffing, training and development, and compensation and benefits.
Duties And Responsibilities
  • Administer the 401k to encourage plan participation and distribute information
  • Provide information to employees for leaves of absence, benefits questions, and employee relations matters.
  • Prepare job postings and post openings in applicant tracking system. Conduct phone interviews with candidates and schedule in-person interviews with hiring manager.
  • Enter workers comp claims and administer through Federated insurance broker online portal
  • Conduct exit interviews and provide suggestions for improvements to management.
  • Oversee and coordinate annual benefits open enrollment process.
  • Visit Little Canada, Hudson, St. Croix Falls, and Owatonna locations monthly to establish rapport with employees.
  • Prepare and complete all new hire paperwork.
  • Provide backup for payroll processing, as needed.
  • Implement and administer performance review process.
  • Update employee handbook annually.
  • Schedule and attend college and high school job fairs.
Requirements
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong MS Office suite skills
  • A minimum of three years' experience in Human Resources
  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business or related field
  • Special projects as assigned
  • Strong time management and organizational abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of national laws and regulations related to employment
