Position Summary
As the Human Resources Director, you will be at the forefront of fostering a positive work environment for over 200 employees across our 13 offices. You will lead the HR/payroll team and provide hands-on support to ensure our mission of safety, healing, and empowerment is carried out at every level. Your expertise in HR management and a proactive approach to inclusivity will contribute to shaping our agency's success.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with the leadership team to align HR strategies with agency goals and mission.
Ensure compliance with all federal and state laws and regulations related to HR management.
Provide supervision and guidance to the HR team, ensuring smooth operations and support for all employees.
Facilitate or co-facilitate meetings with Administrative Office Managers to promote effective communication.
Oversee the creation and implementation of compensation structures, ensuring compliance with equal pay laws.
Play an integral role in setting and administering employee bonus policies.
Offer administrative support and advice to supervisors on employment-related actions and labor law compliance.
Lead recruiting, application, and onboarding processes for new employees, creating a welcoming environment from day one.
Manage the HRIS and payroll systems, ensuring accurate and timely processing of employee data.
Handle termination letters, progressive discipline processes, and participate in termination and ADA meetings as needed.
Conduct exit interviews to gain valuable feedback for continuous improvement.
Advocate for employee benefits, manage benefits-related activities, and handle vendor communications.
Keep agency policy documentation current, including the Employee Handbook and other HR-related procedures.
Provide training and communication on employment policies, benefits, and inclusive practices to foster a positive work culture.
Serve as the Affirmative Action Officer, developing reports and monitoring goal achievements.
Stay informed about updates in HR regulations and industry best practices through attending webinars and training.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Communications, or related field, or equivalent education and experience.
SHRM certification is highly desirable.
Minimum five years of experience in human resources, with at least two years in a supervisory role.
Effective team player with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Experience working with people from diverse backgrounds and a commitment to promoting justice, equity, and inclusion.
In-depth knowledge of relevant federal and state laws and regulations pertaining to HR management and benefits administration.
Proactive approach to anticipating future legislation and recommending corresponding actions.
Working Conditions
You will work from our administrative office in Eugene or remotely within 30 miles of the Salem or Portland office.
Hybrid remote work is possible, but in-person office hours will be required.
Occasional travel to various Options locations may be necessary.
We provide necessary equipment, but a strong Internet connection and a suitable office space are required.
