Human Resource Specialist Jobs

Description of position: The Western Dubuque County Community School District is seeking a Human Resources Specialist to serve 3,600 students and 630 staff members in a high achieving school system. Successful candidates will be motivated to aid and administer the District's human resource functions, inlcuding but not limited to recruitment, hiring, and developing a highly qualified workforce. Addiitional duties and responsibilities include:

• Monitors FTE allocations to ensure staffing is aligned with District guidelines.
• Administers and implements personnel policies and programs for the purpose of conforming to relevant laws, district policies, contracts, and agreements.
• Facilitates employee background process for the purpose of ensuring the District is compliant with applicable state regulations and local policy.
• Reviews and develops employee job descriptions.
• Supervises personnel record keeping procedures for the purpose of ensuring personnel processes follow District, state, and federal requirements.
• Providing support to administrators and managers on issued related to employee discipline and employment for the purpose of ensuring consistent application of policy and employment law.
• Performs others duties as assiged to ensure efficient and effective operation of District programs.
• Coordinates exit interviews to determine reasons behind separation.
• Ensures staff are properly licensed per state and federal requlations.

Required endorsement(s):

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management or related field.
• Previous experience working in a Human Resource Department preferred.

Preferred endorsement(s): pHCLE or SHRM preferred
