Job Description
The Division of Student Life Human Resources Team is growing and seeking two HR Generalists to execute a wide range of Human Resources (HR) responsibilities from a collaborative, customer-service oriented perspective. The HR Generalist will be expected to assist with ensuring the Division of Student Life is making forward progress toward becoming a diverse, equitable, and inclusive organization through advocacy and demonstrating Division of Student Life values in their interactions with all constituents. This position will advise and assist their customer areas on HR policies and practices, including but limited to employee labor relations, payroll, timekeeping, leaves of absence, staffing, benefits, and workers compensation.
This position is eligible for a combination of on-campus and remote work. Remote work must be performed at a location within the state of Iowa and comply with the remote work program and related policies.

About The Division Of Student Life
The Division of Student Life is comprised of staff that embrace new ideas and thoughts, works together to keep our students safe, and provides them with life-changing experiences. The Division of Student Life includes 15 departments that span from Recreation Services to the Office of Leadership, Service and Civic Engagement and everything in between. Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
  • Experience (typically 3 years or more) performing HR responsibilities, including conducting confidential investigations, in an HR role or HR environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in a field relevant to the position; or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • Commitment to and alignment with the values of the Division of Student Life, including a demonstrated active commitment to excellence through diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Working knowledge of current federal and state regulations impacting HR.
  • Superior interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong professional relationships with a wide variety of constituents.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Experience performing HR responsibilities within a large and/or complex organization.
  • Experience (typically 6 months or more) working with employee and/or labor relations.
