Job Description

Position:HR Coordinator/Generalist – Manufacturing

Position Type: Temporary to Permanent

Location: Riverdale, NJ

Hours:7:30am - 4pm or 8am - 4:30pm


We are looking for a dynamic Human Resources professional to join our growing Human Resources team. In this role, you will provide HR administrative support on a day-to-day basis and contribute to the long-run development of HR functions.Supports the HR Manager in providing a comprehensive HR service to managers and staff within the organization.

What you will be doing:

  • Data entry/input into various HR databases.
  • Serve as backup to the manufacturing plant HR leads to cover for vacations and/or extended leaves of absence, when appropriate.
  • Schedule meetings and HR events; coordinate training sessions.
  • Participate in continuous improvement efforts for the HR function.
  • Produce and submit HR reports.
  • Payroll administration.
  • Support HR Lead with entering new hire enrollment and paperwork, daily attendance tracking, upload files to electronic filing system, provide back-up coverage to reception as needed,.
  • Responsible for administering and supporting all areas of the day-to-day operations of group benefit programs (group health, dental, vision, short-term and long-term disability, life insurance, flexible spending plan, health savings plan, and 401(k)). Coordinate and administer open enrollment processes for all employees.
  • Provide excellent customer service to the employees, leadership, and Human Resource team in the field.
  • Maintain and update organizational charts.
  • Provide administrative support to HR members, management, and other staff.
  • Responsible for record keeping of personnel transactions such as promotions, transfers, salary changes and terminations; assist with and facilitate the annual performance appraisal review processes.
  • Respond to internal and external HR related inquires or requests and provide assistance.
  • Prepare Monthly New Hire reports
  • Assist with new hire employee orientation, process all necessary administrative paperwork for new hires (and existing employees), and update and maintain employee personnel files.
  • Manage attendance & LMS programs.
  • Processing and recording of leave (FMLA, ADA, STD) requests.
  • Assist HR and supervisors with performance management procedures.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices as it relates to benefits, workers compensation, and leaves administration.
  • Handle employment verifications, employee letters, and unemployment claims for assigned areas.
  • Administer rapid test drug screening and background checks.

  • Complete special projects and other duties as assigned.This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary.


What experience we are looking for:

  • Proficiency using benefits and other HRIS databases.

  • Self-starting with the desire to own and drive outcomes, with excellent ability to self-manage time and priorities.
  • Knowledge of principles and practices in benefits and human resources.
  • Basic knowledge of ADA, FMLA, Workers Compensation, and federal and state employment regulations, preferred.
  • Must be proficient in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint software and applications; experience with ADP payroll software a plus.
  • Strong detail orientation and organizational skills.
  • Strong continuous improvement mindset and desire for action.

  • Excellent communication skills.
  • A collaborative and flexible professional approach.
  • Associate’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and discretion with sensitive information.
