Currently we are seeking a Senior HR Generalist to join our Americas HR team. In this role you will provide support to all functional areas of the New York based human resources department including but not limited to benefits administration, maintenance of HRIS systems, payroll and reporting, recruitment, and project work. The HR Generalist will represent the department to the workforce, management and external vendors.

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $71,250.00- $110,000.00. It is not typical for offers to be made at or near the top of the range. Rather, salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered.
Accountabilities:
  • HR representative and coordinator of the employee healthcare committee
  • Process HRIS data and ensure accurate entry in ADP and on PeopleHub. Serve as the primary conduit of information between Economist employee data and the global HRBPs
  • Create employee correspondence to include: offer, promotion, salary change and employment verification letters as needed
  • Project manage and owner of the Americas HR monthly activities
  • Manage all payroll cycle changes and consistent updates within the HRIS systems
  • Lead the Wellness and Inclusion efforts for the Americas region
  • Manage the employment life-cycle including ensuring that the on-boarding and exit process and administration across all platforms are completed in a timely and accurate manner
  • Prepare reports and provide insights on employee data
  • Contribute to and assist with local and global HR projects, including the annual salary and appraisal process
  • Complete annual EEO-1 and AAP report submissions
  • Provide guidance on benefits or general Americas HR matters and know when to escalate to senior level HR leadership
  • Manage the visa sponsorship process and lead on global mobility for the U.S.
  • Take ownership of your tasks and introduce new ideas to evolve your processes and procedures
  • Manage open enrollment processes to include the distribution of materials from carriers, communicating changes to employees, arranging for on-site representation by providers, and conduct employee presentations
  • Conduct new employee orientation for all new employees including executives
  • Resolve discrepancies with carriers, payroll and the company in a timely manner
  • Administer employee health, welfare and defined contribution plans for the US
  • Process enrollment transactions and coordinates with payroll and insurance providers to maintain accurate deductions and record keeping
  • Manage non-payroll worker process through effective communication with hiring manager; coordinate with third party vendor as well as HRIS processes
  • Oversee the non-exempt monthly timesheet submission
  • Manage all leaves of absence in Americas including disability leaves in accordance to Group’s policies
Experience, skills and professional attributes:
  • Experience with social media and desire to stay current on trend
  • Prior experience with HRIS maintenance or system implementation a plus
  • Excellent attention to detail, good judgment, customer focus, proactive, enthusiastic and professional attitude
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills with the ability to multi-task with competing priorities
  • Strong written/verbal communication skills; strong interpersonal skills and presentation abilities with the ability to effectively communicate with individuals both internal and external to the organization
  • Superior computer skills - Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint a must. User experience of SAGE, PeopleSoft and ADP Workforce Now desirable
  • Knowledge of HR compliance and concepts, practices and procedures
  • Human resource work experience providing administrative support to staff at all levels of the company
  • An ability to problem solve and deal with a variety of employee questions and needs
