Job Description

HR Business Partner-REMOTE UMass Memorial Health.

United States Remote


This position serves in a leadership role providing strategic direction, vision, and guidance in the integration of the Human Resource strategies, operations, and services to advance and align strategy and structure with talent to achieve organizational goals. This role serves as a key trusted advisor to the assigned entity’s executive leadership team by aligning the people strategy with the business objectives while driving engagement and retention. The HR Business partner will be responsible for understanding the current and future people related issues and challenges of the organization and collaborating with other human resources functional areas to develop and deliver.


Major Qualifications:


  • Collaborate with the Director, HR Strategic programs, and HR Centers of Expertise (COE) to monitor external environment and define future workforce requirements as well as identifying and articulating assigned entity’s Human Resources needs to stakeholders and develop programs and processes in ways that bring value to the business.
  • Collaborate with leaders in understanding and shaping business requirements and translating those into specific human resource actions and initiatives.
  • Participate in strategic discussions with key internal and external partners and develop innovative and forward looking people related initiatives.
  • Translate business strategy and organizational needs into contemporary organizational performance solutions.
  • Ensure appropriate Human Resource information is provided to business leaders which will support the successful alignment of Human Resource operations, programs, and services across the system.


Position Qualifications:

License/Certification/Education:


Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or related field.

Preferred:

  • Advanced degree (MBA or MA) in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.

Experience/Skill:

Required:

  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and organizational skills to understand best practices, translate them into viable solutions, create value propositions, metrics and practices and to organize and prioritize multiple projects and requests.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, consultative and relationship building skills to develop and utilize productive collaborative partnerships with leaders across the organization. Extremely high level of diplomacy and tact are required. Ability to read the subtle nuances of situation and react/plan accordingly.
  • Strong understanding of organizational structure, business operations, financial impact/analysis.
  • Ability to successfully influence and negotiate within all levels of the organization, and to successfully build relationships and teams to align strategies and achieve business results.
  • Must possess a personal presence that is characterized by a sense of honesty, integrity, and caring with the ability to inspire and motivate others to promote the philosophy, mission, vision, goals, and values of UMass Memorial.
  • Minimum 1 to 2years in defining strategy, change management, leading execution, and tracking success measurements, preferably in healthcare.

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of and experience in healthcare.

Unless certification, license or registration is required, an equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed in this description may be substituted for the above requirements.

Department-specific competencies, including age-specific competencies and their measurements will be developed and maintained in the individual departments. The competencies will be maintained and attached to the departmental job description. Responsible managers will review competencies with position incumbents.
