Hospital Medical Staff Director

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Medical Staff Director to join an esteemed 350-bed hospital in Central California. The Medical Staff Director will be responsible for overseeing the functions of the Medical Staff Services Department, ensuring compliance with regulatory agency standards. The Hospital Medical Staff Director will play a vital role in maintaining the highest level of quality care delivery by supporting the credentialing functions, coordinating the continuing medical education program, and facilitating peer review processes.

The Medical Staff Director will have their CPMSM Certification and experience leading a Medical Staff Department within a hospital setting. The Certified Professional Medical Services Management professional will have a smooth transition into this role and will have regional and local support within this well-organized health system.
The Medical Staff Director at this hospital will have oversight of:

• Peer Review: Facilitate the peer review process, ensuring timely and thorough evaluation of medical staff performance and adherence to professional standards. Collaborate with relevant committees to address any identified concerns or areas for improvement.
• Continuing Medical Education (CME) Program: Coordinate and oversee the CME program, including organizing educational activities, tracking attendance, and managing documentation to ensure physicians and allied healthcare professionals meet their CME requirements.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with regulatory agency standards, such as The Joint Commission, CMS, and state licensing requirements, by implementing and monitoring appropriate processes and practices.
• Department Oversight: Provide effective leadership and management to the Medical Staff Services Department, ensuring smooth operations and adherence to established policies and procedures.
• Credentialing Functions: Oversee the credentialing process, including initial appointment, reappointment, and privileging of medical staff members. Collaborate with the Medical Executive Committee to evaluate and verify credentials and maintain accurate records.
