Looking for someone with HIMs background & Cerner Background.

  • Duplicate medical records number
  • HIM background is a must have
  • At least 2 years of hands on HIM experience
  • Most important must haves
  • Amy Read Database Systems Coordinator (She is the one in the role now that they are backilling)
  • Manage match queue (MMQ) making sure there are no duplications
  • EPIC experience is a big plus they are implementing EPIC in the next year or so.
  • Cerner experience is a must have
  • Day to Day
  • Needs to understand how department workflows work


Primary Function


Manages and maintains the Health Information Management tools within clinical systems/applications. Ensures integrity of the Master Patient Index as well as all patient related information. Manages/writes reports related to physician or research requests for patient information. Performs required system maintenance, testing, trains staff, develops training materials and acts as a resource to staff in resolution of problems and application of policies and procedures.


Specifications


Bachelors degree required with one to three years experience in the health care industry, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have strong working knowledge of computer. applications, specifically Microsoft Word and Excel and possess demonstrated analytical skills. Ability to work independently, without supervision. Detail oriented, excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills required. Must be fluent in the English language.
  • Develops standards, process flow and implementation of related systems
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
  • Maintains integrity of the Patient Master Index, researching and correcting in all systems to ensure integrity of system
  • Manages system through change management, maintains incidents and opens service requests with vendor as needed.
  • Manages department system downtimes and recovery procedures
  • Creates and updates department policies and procedures
  • Maintains/writes reports for research requests or physician list.
  • Application of Knowledge and Skill
  • Maintains Doctor Master in all systems.
  • Participates in testing for upgrades and packages
  • Responsible for ongoing training to end users and development of training materials
