Sql Database Administrator (100% Remote - San Antonio / Austin / Scottsdale)

We are looking for a strong SQL Database Administrator with a strong coding background with one of the certification required (Security+, GSEC, SSCP, CCNA-Security, CISA, CISSP, CASP, GSIH, or GCED). The SQL DBA is responsible for installation, configuration, and management of SQL Server and associated databases related to projects, contracts, and government business accounts in support of local, state, and federal agencies to implement, maintain, and promote the growth of GlobalMed’s business plans and interests.

It is 100% remote but we are looking for a candidate who is located at San Antonio / Austin / Scottsdale who is local for team-building events, meetings, etc.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Participate in the research and resolution of database problems.
• Review database design and integration of systems, provide backup recovery, and make recommendations regarding enhancements and/or improvements.
• Provide thorough coordination with customers, application developers, and other IT groups.
• Maintain security and integrity controls.
• Document and improve work processes.
• Perform hardening of both Server Instance and Database in compliance with Federal IT System Risk Management Framework (RMF) Accreditation standards.
• Assist in the drafting of policies, procedures, and plans relating to database management, and monitor transaction activity and utilization.
• Research and install DBMS software packages.
• Implement and maintain smooth operation and physical design of databases. • Conduct performance tuning of indexes and databases in general.
• Perform database maintenance tasks to support application changes and ensure integrity and efficient performance of the databases. Typical maintenance tasks include backup, recovery, migration, space management, structural changes, and performance tuning.

Qualifications

• MySQL Certified or willing to obtain within 6 months
• Proven experience as a SQL Server Database Administrator
• One of the following certifications is necessary to meet the category/level IAT-2 requirement for this position: Security+, GSEC, SSCP, CCNA-Security, CISA, CISSP (or Associate), CASP, GSIH, or GCED.
• Bachelor degree and 5 years of relevant IT experience or 9+ years of experience • SQL Certified
