JOB DESCRIPTION


The NAMR High Yield Trading business is part of the Corporate and Investment Bank’s Global Credit Trading platform. The business trades all High Yield rated Corporate Bonds and Credit Default Swaps. Our client base includes the top High Yield Asset Managers, Insurance Companies, Hedge Funds, Banks and Multi Strategy Investors.

The North America Credit Trading franchise is a leading market maker in credit and securitized products, derivatives, loans, and corporate bonds. Traders, sales people, and desk analysts work collectively to generate ideas and make secondary markets in high grade/high yield bonds/CDS, CLOs, distressed bonds, loans, trade claims, indices, exotics, and illiquid credits.

Job Responsibilities

  • Providing real-time analysis of relevant news flow on a company and industry basis
  • Manage risk – on both single-name and broader book basis and identify compelling trade opportunities
  • Interacting with the global sales force, client base, publishing research team, broader desk analyst team and Leverage Finance Syndicate and Bankers
  • Credit analysis on both a single-name and thematic approach basis
  • Operate well under pressure, be highly organized and have a strong attention to detail

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • A minimum of 4-6 years of relevant, sell-side credit trading experience in HY Bonds and CDS
  • Candidates are required to hold professional licenses. Series 7 and series 63.
  • Experience and proven track record in trading and risk managing that reflects consistent profit generation in HY Bonds and CDS.
  • Strong communication skills with ability to provide clear and succinct verbal updates to colleagues, clients and senior executives
  • Candidates are required to have in depth credit trading and market knowledge, fundamental credit and sector knowledge, credit pricing and risk management experience, mentorship experience and track record in training employees and improving the overall business performance.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Credit analysis experience across a broad subset of industries
  • Trading desk / investing experience
  • Enhanced product knowledge of other credit products (Loans, CLOs, Indices, Options) and other asset classes (Equities, Commodities, Macro)
