The following statements reflect the general duties considered necessary to describe the principal functions of the job as
identified and shall not be considered as a detailed description of all the work requirements, which may be inherent in
the position.
The position requires the capacity to successfully manage multiple competing objectives and to communicate
complex technical information in understandable terms to management, end user personnel, and physicians. The
individual will be responsible for facilitating and promoting the use of information technology by management and
staff members. Provides initial phone support to Marshall Medical Center computer users with both hardware and
software issues. Dispatches necessary staff to resolve problems efficiently. Follows up with customers to ensure
satisfaction. Participates in IT projects, especially those impacting the support of end users within all areas of the
healthcare system.
Education/Licensure/Certification/Experience/Skills Requirements
Education: High School graduate or equivalent preferred
Qualifications:
Ability to read, write, hear, and verbally communicate to the degree required to perform
the job.
Displays a positive, cooperative, diplomatic, and motivated attitude.
Communicates in an honest and friendly manner.
Good problem solving and multi-tasking skills.
Ability to work as a team member in all activities.
Adaptability to manage a stressful situation, differing personalities, and the ability to
depersonalize issues.
Must have adequate typing and keyboard entry skills.
Working knowledge gained through a minimum of one year of experience with the CPSI
system applications to assess equipment, software, and end user problems.
Working knowledge gained through a minimum of one year experience of workstation and
printer hardware.
One year of experience installing and configuring PC based software products.
Knowledge of PC operating systems such as Windows and Microsoft Office
