Intro/Program Description: Goddard Riverside is a well-established Manhattan community-based agency with an annual operating budget of approximately $ 50 million. Goddard Riverside is one of New York City’s leading human service organizations meeting the basic needs of children, youth and families, homeless people, and older adults across Manhattan and New York City.
Purpose of Position: The Isaacs Center’s Education and Workforce (EDWF) program is looking for a highly motivated individual to provide oversight of its Health and Human services sector. In collaboration with the Engagement and Success team, this role plans and executes professional development workshops as they relate to the health and human services sectors, builds a strategy for engaging employment and training partners residents within the Isaacs/Holmes NYCHA development and surrounding communities.
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 35 hours/week.
Salary Range: $43,751 to $54,689

Workshop & Event Facilitation & Lesson Planning
- In partnership with the New Jewish Home and the EDWF team, organizes the career readiness workshop schedule
- Develops and facilitates professional development workshops which prepare our participants for employment opportunities including internships and apprenticeships within the health care and human services sectors
- Work alongside Engagement & Success team to plan and execute college and career fairs, panels, etc
- Support the coordination of and off-site activities, visits, and workshops for participants including scheduling, securing space, transportation, food, etc. in coordination with Business Developer
Client Engagement and Support
- In collaboration with the Business Development team and Alumni Coordinator, evaluates and matches participants with employment placements. Monitors and supports the on- going engagement of participants at their placements.
- Identifies career advancement opportunities and pathways within the primary growing labor market sectors of Health Care and Child Care/Youth Development, – and supports the placement and on-going growth of participants within those pathways.
- Supports all departmental recruitment, engagement, and retention efforts.
- Understands funder goals and uses data to document consistently and accurately, in real time, all participants, employer contacts, activities, and outcomes into Isaacs Centers data base (Salesforce)
- Engages participants in on-going discussions about their career goals and helps them to navigate opportunities internally and externally that support their career growth in Health Care.
- Develop engagement strategies to connect with young people between 16 – 24+ who reside in the Isaacs Houses / Holmes Towers NYCHA (New York City Housing Authority) development
- Track data and participant progress via Salesforce
- Other duties as requested
- Assist with collecting and inputting all necessary data and provide all required information for weekly/monthly/quarterly/annual reports.
- Attend staff meetings, team meetings, and content meetings, as required
- Collaborates with Advance and Earn program leadership to support credential attainment, and continuing education for GED and advanced training participants
Partnerships
- Maintains and supports relationship between established partners such as the New Jewish Home
- Establishes and maintains partnerships with training and employment partners within the health care and human services sectors
Qualifications/Educational Requirements
Education
- Associates degree, Bachelors preferred
Experience
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with staff and clients
- Must have 1-2 years professional experience in an office setting, high degree of attention to detail, superior organizational skills, and strong interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in community organizing and working with young adults (16-24) and older
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- General knowledge: sufficient knowledge of social media management
- Thorough knowledge: A thorough understanding of NYCHA Tenant Associations, East Harlem and beyond.
- A Working knowledge: Basic understanding of youth development & older adults, the
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions
- Some travel required within the five boroughs for meetings and site visits
- Essential physical requirements, such as climbing, standing, stooping, or typing.
- May be required to work weekends/nights at special events
- May require light physical effort/lifting, up to 20 pounds of promotional materials/equipment
- Ability to work outdoors, weather permitting
