Job Description
Our Opportunity
Chewy is hiring an Head of Performance Marketing to focus on new business units, driving the media strategy and overseeing, facilitating, with capacity to execute across multiple paid lower and mid-funnel channels including (but not limited to) Paid Search (SEM, PPC), Paid Social, Display (Programmatic), and others. We have ambitious growth plans for this unit requiring a digital marketing leader with experience in go-to-market (GTM) planning, building, and launching new business. This role will work across all marketing functions including brand, experience, integrated, finance, and merchandising to develop and execute marketing plans (incl. traffic and growth strategy) and ensure operational readiness along a phased launch schedule, establishing clear milestones and contingencies throughout. The person in this role will own the digital performance media channel plan, execution, and ad platform diagnostics / reporting across internal or external contributors. This is a unique opportunity with the feel of a scrappy, nimble start-up group requiring an entrepreneurial and builder mindset with bias for action, quick decision making, high ownership quotient, and self-starter mentality.
The ideal candidate is a passionate ecommerce marketing leader who has a track record of launching new business lines, operating within integrated GTM framework, and delivering (and measuring) great results across tight post launch optimizations and scaled growth marketing cycles. The ideal candidate can manage and own the channel portfolio strategy, performance of multiple campaigns across a variety of goals, is able to work with stakeholders, and can deliver quality work in a fast-paced and always evolving environment. To be successful in this role, you must be, 1) a subject matter expert on low and mid funnel digital marketing channels, 2) entrepreneurial with a builder and growth mindset, 3) a leader who can problem solve quickly with available resources, and 4) obsessed with the customer.
What You’ll Do
  • Develop strategies across low and mid funnel digital media channels, test new ideas, and iterate to grow
  • Establish and manage mechanisms to communicate progress and manage roadmap, key milestones, and critical growth driving projects
  • Own development, communication, execution of detailed go-to-market plan for an integrated digital full funnel marketing campaign
  • Leverage internal and external resources for digital media planning, campaign management, reporting, and optimization within the context of a full cross-functional team on a highly visible project
  • Partner with analytics to provide consistent and actionable performance analysis, reporting, and insights that feeds back into the strategy
  • Ability to conceptualize and execute projects, with strong bias for action, ability to prioritize and meet deadlines, and exceptional attention to detail in a fast paced launch
What You’ll Need
  • Knowledge of biddable and programmatic digital media inputs and ad experiences across lower and mid-funnel including paid search, paid social, programmatic display, online video
  • A history of intaking, owning, and delivering on schedule against on a project roadmap and transparently providing status updates to stakeholders throughout
  • Ability to manage the strategy while inspecting the tactical execution on new campaigns, manage up on performance reads, strategic evolution and development of POVs and insights that help the business scale
  • Ability to develop campaign strategies balancing efficiency/scalability based on available resources
  • Strong understanding of the data privacy landscape including platform updates and upcoming changes
  • Mindset and ability to present ideas to senior level leadership, take feedback, and engage in debates to hone our strategy and drive growth for the business
  • 8+ years of digital media experience, 4+ years managing either internal or external (3P) vendors, agencies, or contractors
  • Experience inspecting operational readiness, configuration of campaigns, and pressure testing / managing QA, launch, and evergreen optimization phases seamlessly and with a performance obsession
