OVERVIEW OF THE POSITION

Sushi Maki seeks a dynamic Manager of Marketing, Digital and Sales to envision, develop and activate a best-in-class, fully integrated brand, marketing, sales and engagement strategy that effectively navigates the intersection of consumer insights, product development, creative activation, impact communications, and public relations.The Manager of Marketing, Digital and Sales will prioritize new traffic growth, but will also focus on increasing frequency, with the ultimate goal of driving revenue and profitability through brick and mortar, Whole Foods and non-traditional locations.This individual is responsible for evaluating and developing marketing strategies, planning and coordinating marketing efforts, communicating the marketing plans to those involved, and building awareness and positioning for the company.

As a critical partner to the COO, VP of Finance and the CEO, this leader will build capabilities and develop a roadmap for success with an integrated marketing strategy, enhanced sales capabilities, and a focus on digital, social and mobile engagement.


KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

•Work directly with founder/CEO and executive team on brand vision and marketing strategy

•Create and implement overall brand voice and personality/strategy, evolve brand platform

•Lead and oversee marketing planning, strategy, execution and measurement process

•Create and implement marketing plans/strategy for all promotions, campaigns, store activations, and new launches, and establish annual marketing budgets

•Develop and deploy strategic marketing campaigns within and across channels (digital, social, mobile, print/trade, field, CRM, etc.) to drive traffic and growth of the business

•Own, develop and manage all digital aspects of the business, including third party platform partnership relationships/adverting, email marketing strategies, website management/optimizations inclusive of SEO and SMS strategies, to generate brand awareness, consumer loyalty, direct online sales

•Measure, report and analyze data to optimize performance of content on website and digital marketing, including paid ads on social, print and third party platforms

•Manage agency relationships, including collaboration/strategic direction with social media, creative, PR, and/or buying agencies

•Build and lead a team of high-performance creative and marketing professionals

•Function as head Brand Ambassador and develop community relationships

•Note: Working remotely is not an option for this position.


KEY RELATIONSHIPS

•Reports to: COO

•Direct Reports: Creative/Graphic Resources (internal and external), Marketing Coordinator/Social Media; other external/ as-needed freelance resources

•Other Key Relationships:Director of Catering; COO; IT Team; VP Finance; CEO.

•Demonstrates proven track record of creating and/or evolving a best-in-class, digitally led, integrated, brand experience capability within a company landscape that is consumer-facing and customer centric.

•Passion for learning and staying current on “all things digital” on the cutting edge of new digital strategies, trends and technologies

•Understand and navigate the nuances and expectations of a regional, founder-led, hospitality brand

•Restaurant Operations savvy a plus – having worked in restaurants would be a great to have


Experience Profile:

•5-plus years of progressive brand/marketing experience within image-driven, consumer facing companies known for creating emotional connections with their customers

•Track record of developing 360-degree customer engagement plans that leverage disruptive (digital, mobile and social) and traditional channels (email, direct mail, outdoor, media, print)

•Savvy in experiential and digital/social engagement vehicles

•Prior P&L responsibility

•Results-oriented with proven capability to marry quantitative analysis with qualitative assessment/measurement in program development, evaluation, and refinement

•Proven ability to build talent and supporting capabilities to support business objectives and growth and coach/mentor and motivate/inspire a high-performing team


Physical Requirements

•Some lifting and the movement of moderate loads require a 25-pound lifting requirement.

•Responsible for utilizing office equipment.

•Spends approximately 20% of his/her time standing and walking swiftly, therefore, he/she must have the ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and move freely using all limbs and seeing at close/long distances.

•Attend meetings, conferences, workshops, etc. as well as visit Sushi Maki locations, vendors, etc.; therefore, he/she must be able to travel autonomously, possibly to other geographical locations, in inclement weather, with little to no prior notification given.

•Must be able work under a high degree of stress on a physical, mental and emotional level; this includes performing work in a fast-paced manner and making timely decisions.
