Job Description

We are seeking a VP of Marketing & Communications for a high-end women's fashion company that creates, produces, wholesales, and retails high-end women's fashion. For their exceptional quality, unique designs, and luxurious materials, their brand is recognized and respected worldwide. Throughout Europe, North America, and Latin America, they are stocked in international department stores, multi-brand boutiques, and premier ecommerce destinations. This unique fashion brand combines Colombian craftsmanship with modern design.


Salary Range: 130,000 - 160,000 + big bonus incentive


Location: mandatory the candidate goes into the offices in Coral Gables, FL, thus would have to be located in Miami or willing to relocate

JOB TITLE:

Vice President of Marketing & Communications


REPORTING:

The Vice President of Marketing & Communications will report directly to the Chief Commercial officer.


JOB SUMMARY:

As Vice President of Marketing & Communications, you will have the primary responsibility of overseeing and directing all marketing and communications activities within our organization. Your role will involve developing and executing comprehensive marketing plans, setting strategic goals, evaluating marketing campaigns, submitting budget requests, managing our brand identity, and nurturing relationships with media outlets and stakeholders. Strategic thinking, effective leadership, and collaboration with other departments will be essential in aligning our marketing efforts with our overall business strategies.


Your core focus will be consolidating our brand through communication, marketing initiatives, and public relations. You will ensure that our strategies effectively transmit a strong and unique message and image across the globe. To achieve this, you will oversee and coordinate relationships with PR and media relations agencies to ensure that our brand messaging and image are consistently and faithfully represented.


In addition, you will closely collaborate with our Creative Director and assume responsibility for coordinating all her public activities on a global scale. This entails working together to align her activities with our brand messaging and overall marketing objectives, ensuring a cohesive and impactful presence.


Through your expertise and leadership, you will play a vital role in strengthening our brand, driving effective communication, and enhancing our reputation in the market. Your strategic vision and ability to guide and inspire our marketing and communications teams will be instrumental in achieving our organizational goals and maintaining a competitive edge.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Coordinate Public Activities of the Creative Director: Work closely with the Creative Director to coordinate and align her public activities with the organization's brand messaging and marketing objectives. Ensure a cohesive and impactful presence across public appearances, events, and partnerships.
  • Cultivate relationships with Media outlets: Build and nurture relationships with media outlets, journalists, influencers, and key stakeholders to generate positive media coverage and enhance the organization's reputation. Develop and implement media relations strategies, including press releases, media kits, and interviews.
  • Monitor and Optimize Marketing Strategies: Track and analyze marketing metrics and KPIs to evaluate the effectiveness of campaigns. Leverage data insights to make data-driven decisions and optimize marketing strategies. Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to drive innovation and maintain a competitive edge.
  • Crisis Communication and Reputation Management: Develop and implement strategies for crisis communication and reputation management. Proactively address potential issues and effectively handle crises to protect the organization's brand and reputation.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and creative teams to maintain a strong and cohesive brand presence.
  • Stay Updated on Industry Trends: Continuously monitor and research industry trends, consumer behavior, and competitor activities. Stay abreast of emerging technologies and best practices in marketing and communications. Apply insights to drive innovation and adapt marketing strategies accordingly.
  • Develop and Execute Comprehensive Marketing Plans: Create and implement strategic marketing plans that align with the organization's goals and objectives. This includes defining target audiences, identifying marketing channels, allocating budgets, and setting KPIs to measure the effectiveness of campaigns.
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work collaboratively with other departments, executives, and teams to align marketing efforts with overall business strategies. Coordinate with product managers, sales teams, and business development to support go-to-market initiatives and maintain consistent messaging.
  • Lead and Manage the Marketing and Communications Team: Provide effective leadership, mentorship, and guidance to the marketing and communications team. Foster a high-performing culture, set goals, conduct performance evaluations, and identify professional development opportunities.
  • Manage Brand Identity: Ensure consistent representation of the organization's brand across all marketing and communication channels. Develop and enforce brand guidelines, including visual identity, logo usage, color schemes, typography, tone of voice, and messaging. Collaborate with internal stakeholders and creative teams to develop and maintain a strong brand presence that resonates with the target audience.
  • Coordinate with PR and Media Relations Agencies: Oversee and coordinate relationships with external PR and media relations agencies to ensure brand messaging and image are accurately represented. Collaborate closely to align strategies, monitor results, and ensure consistency in communication efforts.


Qualifications and Skills:


  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with media outlets, industry influencers, and stakeholders.
  • Must have 8 + years of experience in luxury fashion industry.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • In-depth knowledge of marketing strategies, branding principles, and communications best practices.
  • Proficiency in digital marketing channels, social media platforms, and analytics tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to create compelling content and deliver impactful presentations.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and executing successful marketing campaigns.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Bilingual Proficiency: Possess strong bilingual proficiency in both English and Spanish, with the ability to communicate fluently and effectively in both languages. This includes excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Spanish, including grammar, vocabulary, and idiomatic expressions.
  • Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or a related field. A master’s degree is a plus.
  • Proven experience in a senior marketing or communications role, preferably in a similar industry or organization.
