Position Overview:

AVL Growth Partners is looking for a dynamic and driven Head of People Operations to lead our team. This position will require the ability to be tactical and work on matters such as employee inquiries, benefits & perk management, and people experience, while also being strategic and driving workforce unification efforts through various initiatives such as organizational design, learning and development and performance management. Being a small, but maturing organization, requires agility to keep up with the pace of change; this role needs to be nimble while identifying initiatives and working collaboratively to further define and evolve our culture.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Organizational design: In collaboration with the CEO and each leader, provide input on the development of team structures that support scale, effective use of resources and provides managers and employees clear paths for career progression
  • Work closely with the Head of Finance to develop budgets associated with training, performance cycles and codify timing and cadence across the business
  • The Head of People Operations report directly to the CEO and partners closely with the management team to help build a high-impact team as the company grows and scales
  • Team KPI’s: Identify, track, and report on HR team metrics that align to broader business goals and priorities
  • Develop programs for individual, manager and company-wide training that will benefit employee development, company culture and business performance
  • Work with marketing team to develop employer branding that is aligned to overarching brand and drives excitement and interest in working at the company
  • The Head of People Operations will serve as a key leader and partner with the organization to own the entire end-to-end employee experience, compensation and benefits planning, implementation and management, performance cycles and career pathing and company culture, while being a support to our talent team
  • Culture: Identify ways to improve and elevate the company culture to ensure we are consistently delivering on our values, developing programs to improve employee engagement, satisfaction and retention and ensuring that diversity, equity and inclusion is embraced holistically across the business
  • Identify performance and promotion cycles that are clear, consistent and aligned to a process that supports professional growth of employees


Primary Objectives:

  • Strategically develop and evolve practices to increase employee satisfaction and retention
  • Support the alignment between business operations and excellence in employment practices
  • Creating and maintaining a strong relationship with all stakeholders to drive optimal operational performance
  • Develop and execute a People Operations strategy that translates business and people team objectives into clear policies and actionable processes


Qualifications to be considered:

  • 15+ years of experience in People & Human Resources, with experience in a high-growth, innovative company, preferably that has experienced the start-up life and rapidly scaling growth
  • Embraces and demonstrates a true growth mindset in their own, ongoing personal development as well as in how they develop and evaluate the potential of others
  • Highly analytical and metrics-driven with a strong breadth of skills across Talent Acquisition, Learning and Development, Total Rewards, Organizational Design and Employee Relations
  • Experience leading a company through rapid growth
  • Strong problem solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses
  • Effective and persuasive in leading change across multiple audiences, driving alignment, applying business acumen, company values and emotional intelligence that inspires others
  • Proven experience creating, implementing, and improving best-in-class employee engagement, performance management, career development, succession planning, retention, and onboarding processes that have operational stability
  • High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and accountability


Compensation & Benefits:

  • Benefits: PTO, paid holidays, medical, dental, vision, optional HSA match, 401k, cell phone stipend
  • Base salary range $160,000-$200,000 plus bonus eligibility
