Position Summary
The Head, Global Digital Strategy is a critical and visible leader within the organization. Responsible for developing global engagement strategies through analysis of insights and partnerships with cross-functional stakeholders. Using the strategic direction to create and execute initiatives ensuring a successful launch that maximizes global brand awareness.
Reporting to the Head of Global Marketing, this role will require the ability to collaborate and contribute to projects across the organization. This role serves as the central digital resource for the organization not only working at a global level but with countries and across various functions in the organization. Leveraging insights learned in collaboration with market insights and analytics as well as digital analytics/best practices, you will drive the global digital strategic plan and execution.
Responsibilities
  • Be an advocate for use of innovation in commercial activities, making the business case and demonstrating how new and existing digital capabilities could positively impact existing business processes.
  • Develop global goals, KPIs, and metrics to continually evaluate the success of programs and adjust as needed including the development and maintenance of a global dashboard
  • Partner with IT to evaluate, implement, and optimize digital tools across the organization to streamline digital thinking and create efficiencies
  • Work with cross-functional teams to provide key digital insights and input on strategy, tactics, and messaging, and program execution including commercial, corporate communications, etc
  • Partner with Commercial Operations to determine data flow in the organization and ensure data is being captured and leads identified
  • Define and standardize global best practices for digital engagement across the organization; successfully scale digital tools across brands and regions and establish processes to continually improve digital tools and platforms
  • Oversee both the digital and brand design team
  • Provide vendor management and leadership to ensure partners are aligned and deliver per agreed upon plans. Direct management of development partner and media/analytics partner.
  • Work cross functionally to lead the development of a strategic plan and subsequent implementation for global digital, regional, and local communications
  • Develop and maintain a strategic roadmap and continually evaluate and refine the Company’s digital footprint/ecosystem
  • Brief each region on the global strategy; supporting regional execution/adaptation as needed
  • Provide thought leadership related to potential data/analytics that can propel decision making for the Company
Requirements
  • 15+ years of biotech/pharma and/or pharma advertising experience, 5+ years in a digital strategy role with a strong technical knowledge
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred
  • Rare disease and/or neurology experience preferred
  • Ability to manage a team while managing your own workload and the vision to determine how the group will grow with the company and evolving needs
  • This role will travel domestically and internationally as needed
  • Proven ability to demonstrate leadership skills and success building strong, collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders across the globe
  • Desire to work in a fast-paced, innovative environment with the ability to prioritize efforts and manage stakeholder expectations with strong communication, problem-solving, and negotiation/decision-making skills
  • Global launch experience required including a strong knowledge of digital regulations/requirements in the US, Canada, EMEA, APAC, & LATAM
