ROLE CTQs:

  • Must have a strong continuous improvement mindset/background to drive change and process improvement, with experience in quality methodologies such as Six Sigma.
  • Must have at least 5+ years' Quality leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Must have experience establishing defect management standards and processes that align with best practice testing methodologies.
  • Must have a strong background in implementing strategies to ensure organizational products and processes meet established quality standards.
  • Ideally, have a BS/BA degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • Must be able to work in the US without the need for employer sponsorship.
  • Must have a strong background in establishing and overseeing quality management systems and processes, such as QS and ISO 9001:2010.
  • Lean Six Sigma certification preferred.

They seek a Quality Director to lead the development and implementation of an effective Quality Management System (QMS) that promotes customer satisfaction and positively impacts the company's financial performance and market reputation.


Position Description and Responsibilities:

The Quality Director is a key leadership role within our client's organization, reporting directly to the VP of Operations. This position requires an experienced Quality leader with a solid electromechanical product manufacturing background who has leveraged continuous improvement methodologies as part of their Quality roles. The Quality Director will establish quality systems and processes to promote customer satisfaction and positively impact the company's financial performance and market reputation.



  • This position will solicit internal and external feedback to improve processes or products continuously.
  • This position will implement strategies to ensure the company’s products and processes meet or exceed established quality standards.
  • This position and its team will establish a product quality documentation system by writing and updating quality procedures and maintaining compliance standards.
  • This position will develop and oversee the company’s Quality Inspection processes by effectively managing the quality organization to oversee incoming, in-process material, components, processes, and finished goods.
  • Through effective management of the quality organization, this position will own and be accountable for the company’s Quality Metrics (Defects/Unit, First Pass Yield) and budget.
  • This position will maintain product quality by enforcing quality governance, procedures, and legal/regulatory requirements.
  • This position will provide leadership of the Product Support team and ensures technicians have the knowledge, skill, and ability to service customers and exceed service and quality standards.
  • This position will establish performance measures, goals, objectives, and priorities for Product Support Team’s activities.
  • This position will establish quality and reliability standards based on product requirements and Voice of the Customer data in partnership with the cross-functional leadership team (Engineering, Manufacturing, Sales, Supply Chain).
  • Other duties as needed and assigned.
  • This position will serve as a resource for the quality organization and other functions concerning quality training and its integration into the company's Lean and Six Sigma.
  • This position will formulate and manage the development, implementation, and maturation of the quality vision, goals, objectives, procedures, and policies for the entire company.
  • This position will lead the effort to continuously improve products and quality systems (including analysis, processes, documentation, and reporting) throughout the company (domestic/international).
  • This position will oversee the company’s quality management system and monitor progress against strategic quality-related goals.
  • This position will be called upon to support Manufacturing and Quality operations globally to harmonize quality standards.
  • This position will establish defect management standards and processes that align with best practice testing methodologies.


Position Critical to Quality + Success (CTQ+S): Technical Behavioral Requirements:

  • Lean Six Sigma certification preferred.
  • ASQ Certifications: CQE and CQM desired
  • Statistical knowledge is required.
  • Knowledge of analytical and quantitative aspects of quality technology and Lean Six Sigma.
  • Must have at least 5+ years’ Quality leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related.
  • Training and experience with Lean tools such as Kaizen, VSM, Standard Work, A3, and their integration with QMS systems and the Quality function of an organization
  • Knowledge of quality system regulations, e.g., QS, ISO, 9001:2010.
  • Manufacturing experience with electromechanical products and assembly methods is strongly desired.
  • Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
