Gis Mapping Analyst Jobs

Develops, implements, and ensures ongoing operation of a GIS pipeline database system for the Valero Energy pipeline assets.

• Ensures compliance with federal and state regulations.
• Manages the company-wide initiative of implementing a GIS database system for Valero Energy pipeline assets.
• Reduces potential risk to public safety and environment and minimizes company liability.
• Provides technical support to all pipeline departments that will result in safe, efficient and cost effective installations.
• Verifies asset field data for GIS and other projects utilizing survey techniques.
• Organizes and maintains GIS file directory and hardcopy map files.
• Performs scheduling, cost tracking, and status reporting for assigned projects.
• Coordinates the accrual and input of pipeline data from various sources into the GIS database system.
• Follows all safety rules and guidelines as established by the Logistics Operations and Development department.
• Assists with identification of High Consequence Areas and mapping for the Integrity Management Program.
• Creates and distributes maps and prints for IMP, engineering, right of way and field personnel utilizing GIS, ArcView, and AutoCAD software for DOT compliance and departmental use.

This position is salaried exempt status, which means you are not eligible for overtime pay.

• 3 years of direct GIS pipeline experience required.
• Bachelor's or higher level degree in Geographical Information Systems (GIS), geography, surveying, cartography or related field of study (to include course work in mapping, surveying and spatial analysis) preferred.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Survey experience preferred.
• AutoCAD experience preferred.
• Experience working with PODS preferred.
• Experience working with liquid and/or gas pipelines required.

Position level and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
