Gemstone Operations Associate (Temporary)

This position will support the Gemstone Operations team with the physical and systematic movement of gemstones and pearls. It will also provide Inventory Control support including cycle counting and supports with all Sarine & Imaging. This position will also support additional projects and responsibilities deemed necessary to achieve departmental goals.

Key Accountabilities

Projects

• Prepare, layout and organize stones for high visibility meetings.
• Provide support with other projects deemed necessary to achieve department goals.
• Execute data entry for select stones, ensure accuracy and produce data as requested.

Inventory Management

• Transfer and receive inventory from external and internal customers (manufacturing, testing labs, JDIW, design, product development etc.).
• Perform Cycle counts, High Value counts, review transaction history to ensure accuracy. Perform secondary counts as needed when discrepancies occur.
• Maintain inventory in the proper stocking locations, filing stock away appropriately.
• Perform count, visual inspection, system receipt, and put away of returned inventory as needed.

Gemstone Operations

• Receive physically and process systematically all incoming gemstone deliveries within established timeframe of receipt. Ensure stones are moved physically and systematically in accordance with company and departmental SOP (Standard Operational Procedure).
• Complete Sarine & Imaging requests within established timeframes.
• Maintain clean and orderly work area. Assist in maintaining the security and safety of the gemstone operations area.
• Ensure accuracy of count, description, and cost. Escalate inaccuracies to Management for further follow up with supplier.
• Participate daily in striving for continuous improvement in the gemstone operations department.

Required Qualifications

• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Organizational skills, ability to work effectively in fast paced, stressful environment.
• Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Ability to Multitask.
• Experience in operational or inventory control role.

Preferred Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree
• Knowledge of JD Edwards

The hiring range for this position ranges from $22.02 - $29.78 per hour. The rate of pay offered will be dependent upon candidates’ relevant skills and experience.
