We are currently seeking a skilled Game Designer to join our dynamic team and contribute to the development of our game, SkeeBoost. The ideal candidate should possess a strong understanding of game design principles, have experience in writing Game Design Documents (GDD), be a passionate gamer at heart, and have a deep knowledge and love for Skee-Ball.

Responsibilities:

- Collaborate with the creative team to conceptualize and develop engaging gameplay mechanics, systems, and features for the SkeeBoost game.

- Research and analyze player feedback, market trends, and industry best practices to inform the game's design and enhance the player experience.

- Create and maintain detailed Game Design Documents (GDD) that outline the game's mechanics, progression systems, level design, and overall gameplay vision.

- Design and prototype gameplay elements, including controls, player progression, scoring systems, power-ups, and rewards, while ensuring they align with the game's theme and target audience.

- Work closely with artists, developers, and other cross-functional teams to implement and iterate on game features, ensuring they meet the design specifications and vision.

- Balance and fine-tune gameplay elements to ensure a satisfying and enjoyable experience for players of all skill levels.

- Conduct playtesting sessions, gather feedback, and make iterative design changes based on user testing results and analytics data.

- Collaborate with level designers to create captivating and challenging levels that provide a sense of progression and excitement.

- Collaborate with the narrative team to integrate storytelling elements, characters, and narratives into the gameplay experience.

- Stay up-to-date with emerging trends, technologies, and design practices in the gaming industry, and apply them to improve the overall quality and innovation of the game.

Requirements:

- Experience in Game Design or a degree in Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).

- Proven experience as a Game Designer, preferably in the mobile gaming industry.

- Strong knowledge of game design principles, mechanics, and best practices.

- Experience in writing and maintaining Game Design Documents (GDD) to communicate game concepts, mechanics, and progression systems.

- A deep understanding and love for Skee-Ball or similar ball-rolling games.

- Proficiency in designing gameplay mechanics, systems, and features that provide engaging and enjoyable experiences.

- Familiarity with level design principles and the ability to create well-balanced and challenging levels.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and address design issues.

- Proficient in using design tools and software, such as Unity, Unreal Engine, or other relevant game development software.

- Strong communication and collaboration skills to effectively work with cross-functional teams.

- Passion for gaming and a genuine understanding of player motivations and preferences.

- Creativity and the ability to think outside the box to develop innovative gameplay ideas and mechanics.

- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and meet project deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience in designing and balancing free-to-play games and monetization mechanics.

- Knowledge of user experience (UX) principles and practices.

- Familiarity with agile development methodologies.

- Understanding of game analytics and the ability to use data to inform design decisions.
