About The Team
Stripe builds economic infrastructure for the internet. We’re moving
beyond payments and “up the stack” to help our users run their
businesses more effectively. Issuing is developing new capabilities to
empower businesses to use digital wallets and tokenization in their card
programs. We aim to help businesses deploy novel use cases that rely on
fully programmable payment instruments.
What you’ll do
As a Fullstack Engineer on Banking as a Service, you'll have the
opportunity to work end to end across our two most important boundaries:
with our partners and with our users. Our partners provide the raw
capabilities that we turn into user interfaces, mobile SDKs, and
expressive APIs that empower our users.
Responsibilities

• Engineer solutions across systems such as mobile SDKs for issuer apps, scalable tokenization APIs, and partner infrastructure.
• Contribute to large ongoing projects on multiple fronts (architecture/design, code reviews, quality assurance and incident management).
• Mentor junior engineers in their technical careers to help them grow.
• Have a desire and ability to empathize with the many different types of users who depend on Stripe Issuing.
• Develop sample code and documentation to help users be successful
• Listen well and internalize the best ideas from all over the organization while also setting a vision that others are excited to get behind.
• Develop and execute against both short- and long-term roadmaps. Make effective tradeoffs that consider business priorities, user experience, and a sustainable technical foundation.

Who you are
We’re looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be

Minimum Requirements

• Experience across mobile platforms (iOS and Android).
• 5+ years of experience as a Software Engineer.
• Experience with developing APIs and backend systems.
• Experience in highly-scalable, cloud production environments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with document or relational databases, Mongo, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Presto, and/or Trino.
• Experience designing and engineering large-scale systems.
• Development experience in dynamic languages like Ruby or Python.
• Experience with React Native.
• Preference for simple solutions and designs over complex ones, and have a good intuition for what is lasting and scalable.
• Comfort working on a new product under fluid conditions, seamlessly balancing tactical and strategic considerations.
• Experience working on financial services, payments, or other regulated applications or products.
• Ability to thrive in a collaborative environment involving different stakeholders and subject matter experts.
