Full Charge Bookkeeper Jobs

Pay Range: $23 – $28/hr.

Summary

Provost & Pritchard is seeking a motivated, self-starter to perform all aspects of bookkeeping for multiple water districts.

Duties

• Assist general manager with preparation of annual budget, periodic financial reporting, and audits
• Maintain records of monthly customer payments and coordinate with third party billing and collections
• Prepare check for approval by general manager
• Complete reimbursement claims in accordance with grant funding compliance requirements
• Responsible for billing according to various contract terms
• Proactively work with billing managers to complete monthly invoicing and reimbursement claims for water system grant funding program
• Maintain accounts payable records for utility, vendor and contractor billing
• Companywide Bookkeeping Responsibilities:
  • Proactively work with billing managers to complete monthly invoicing to clients
  • Responsible for billing according to various contract terms
• Small Community Water System Bookkeeping Responsibilities:
  • Maintain records of monthly customer payments and coordinate with third party billing and collections
  • Maintain accounts payable records for utility, vendor and contractor billing

  • Maintain and reconcile bank account records
  • Assist general manager with preparation of annual budget, periodic financial reporting, and audits
  • Proactively work with billing managers to complete monthly invoicing and reimbursement claims for water system grant funding program
  • Complete reimbursement claims in accordance with grant funding compliance requirements
• Proactively work with billing managers to complete monthly invoicing to clients
• Maintain and reconcile bank account records

Requirements

• Detailed oriented and ability to organize, prioritize, work independently, and adapt;
• Experience with California State Water Resources Control Board funding programs, preferred.
• Demonstrated proficiency in Quickbooks, Word, Excel, Outlook, and other accounting software;
• Experience in one of more preferred: small/community water systems, water utilities, local public agencies;
• Associate’s degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school in accounting or closely related program and minimum three years related experience and/or training;
• Effectively communicate and problem-solve with wide variety of stakeholders including program staff, accounting staff, subcontractors, counterparts at water utilities, and water system customers;
• Strong analytical & research skills in policy requirements, compliance, audits;
