by its bold character, intricate detail, and sparkling embellishments. The New York-based label, which takes its name from a melding of synonyms for ‘vintage’ and ‘party’, channels disco-era after-hours through tastefully provocative, day-and-night silhouettes.

Retrofête is seeking a full time Freelance Assistant Designer. To join our growing team, please review the list of responsibilities and qualifications.

Responsibilities:

• Provides production ready artwork, in both print and electronic format, for internal and external partners
• Fitting and fit comments
• Collaborates with Design on the visualization, presentation, and communication of pattern concepts through CAD artwork
• Handle all categories cross functionally in the design team.
• CAD/Flats
• Assists with research for current trends in color, textiles and styles
• Efficiently manages workflow
• Assisting with Women's Contemporary Cut and Sew (Dress, Tops and bottoms)
• Looking for someone with great all round experience
• Assist with development of pattern repeats and produces alternate color ways for developed prints
• Assist the team in designing product that is consistent with market trends brand aesthetic
• Creates technical breakdown of all print and pattern layout specifications for design as communication tool for vendor fabric development
• Collaborates with Design on all colorway approvals
• Position will mainly focus on Tech packs

Qualifications:

• Experience: 1-2 years in contemporary womenswear designer
• Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
