JOB SUMMARY We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Freelance Casting Director to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for identifying, evaluating, and selecting talent for various projects, including fashion shows, photo shoots, video productions, and promotional events. You will collaborate closely with clients, creative directors, photographers, stylists, and other industry professionals to understand their vision and requirements, and then source and cast the perfect individuals to bring that vision to life. RESPONSIBILITIES Talent Sourcing: Research and identify potential talent by reviewing portfolios, attending industry events, scouting, and utilizing online resources such as social media platforms, modeling agencies, and talent databases. Casting Process: Manage the entire casting process, including scheduling and conducting auditions, interviews, and callbacks. Coordinate with talent agents, negotiate contracts, and ensure legal and ethical compliance. Collaborative Partnerships: Work closely with creative directors, photographers, stylists, and clients to understand their vision and requirements for each project. Offer creative input and provide recommendations on talent selection based on market trends, brand positioning, and campaign objectives. Talent Evaluation: Assess the suitability of talent based on their appearance, skills, personality, and ability to represent the brand or project effectively. Review portfolios, conduct screen tests, and evaluate overall performance. Talent Management: Maintain a strong network of industry professionals, talent agents, and models for future projects. Foster relationships with talent to ensure ongoing collaborations and client satisfaction. Administration: Handle administrative tasks related to casting, such as organizing contracts, managing schedules, and maintaining accurate records of talent details and project specifications. Industry Knowledge: Stay up-to-date with the latest trends, emerging talent, and industry best practices in the fashion, lifestyle, and beauty sectors. Attend relevant events, shows, and conferences to expand your network and industry knowledge. REQUIREMENTS Proven Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Casting Director or similar role in the fashion, lifestyle, or beauty industries, preferably in New York. Extensive Network: Strong connections with modeling agencies, talent agents, and industry professionals. Demonstrated ability to source and cast diverse talent across different demographics. Industry Expertise: In-depth knowledge of fashion, lifestyle, and beauty trends, including a keen eye for aesthetics and a solid understanding of brand positioning. Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Ability to effectively collaborate with clients, creative teams, and talent to achieve desired outcomes. Organizational Skills: Exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple casting projects simultaneously. Strong organizational and time management skills. Adaptability: Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with tight deadlines and changing priorities. Ability to think creatively and problem-solve on the spot.
