Job Description

*Role: Pro Bono Virtual Forest Therapist in Residence*


Volunteer Role


*Reports To:* Director of Educational Programs or equivalent


*Role Overview:*


The Pro Bono Virtual Forest Therapist will provide expert guidance and insights to support our app users and course participants in their journey to improve health and well-being through nature immersion and forest therapy. The role entails developing and implementing immersive experiences and engaging content that guides individuals to connect deeply with nature, even in a virtual setting. The Forest Therapist will serve as an ambassador for our program, promoting the benefits of nature immersion and offering therapeutic support to participants.


*Key Responsibilities:*


1. **Content Development and Delivery**: Develop engaging content for our nature counter app and courses, focusing on creating experiences that mimic the benefits of nature immersion in a digital space.


2. **User Engagement and Support**: Engage with app users and course participants, providing guidance, answering queries, and offering therapeutic support to help them gain maximum benefits from nature immersion.


3. **Outreach and Advocacy**: Act as an ambassador for our program, raising awareness about the benefits of nature immersion, forest therapy, and their positive impact on health and well-being.


4. **Collaboration**: Work collaboratively with our team to optimize content, share insights and feedback, and ensure a consistent and impactful user experience.


5. **Continuous Learning and Improvement**: Keep abreast of the latest research in forest therapy, nature immersion, attention restoration theory, and related fields to inform and improve the app and course content.


*Qualifications:*


- A degree in Psychology, Therapy, Counselling, Social Work, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

- Certification as a forest therapy guide or nature immersion therapist, or substantial experience in the field.

- Familiarity with the principles of attention restoration theory and its application in therapy.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with individuals from diverse backgrounds.

- Knowledge and experience in delivering therapeutic interventions in a virtual environment.

- Strong passion for promoting mental health, well-being, and a connection to nature.

This role is pro bono and voluntary, intended for those who are passionate about contributing to the community and helping individuals find healing and restoration through nature. Although this role does not offer monetary compensation, it provides an opportunity to utilize your expertise for a greater good, gain experience in virtual therapy delivery, and be a part of a community that shares a commitment to nature's healing power.
