- Verified Carbon Standard (VCS) -- the world’s leading carbon crediting program, with more than 1600 registered projects in 80 countries, and accounting for two-thirds of all voluntary carbon market transaction volume.
Verra is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized individual to join our team as a Registry Finance Assistant. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring accurate and efficient financial operations within the finance department. The ideal candidate must have prior experience in accounting, particularly in accounts receivable, data entry and reconciliation.

- Contribute to process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy within the finance department
- Communication with customers and team members regarding payment-related inquiries and discrepancies
- Collaborate with the Registry Finance team to support the financial needs of the organization
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes
- Assist in identifying incoming payments and ensure proper allocation to relevant accounts
Specific functions you will be responsible for leading...
- Conduct reconciliation of accounts, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Coordinate the Billing email account, respond to inquiries, and forwarding relevant information to appropriate team members
- Enter new accounts into the accounting system, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records
- Maintain accurate and organized records of financial transactions, invoices, and vendor information
- Complete new customer onboarding and setup as requested by account holders and departments
You bring with you...
- High level of integrity and confidentiality in handling financial information
- Proficient in using accounting software and Microsoft Office applications
- Proven experience in accounting, specifically in accounts receivable and reconciliation
- Associate’s or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Prior experience with Unanet software is a plus
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment

Compensation at Verra
To help us attract and retain top talent, Verra pays employees competitively to the market. In return, we expect each employee to, at a minimum:

For this position, the salary range is USD $50,762 – $57,945, depending on experience.
We will recognize employees who go beyond expected performance with salary increases and/or promotions, but the bar for earning those rewards is high.
Salary is one component of Verra’s total compensation package which also includes:
- Funds to support professional development.
- Verra contributions to each employee’s retirement plan;
- Verra contributions as required by national labor laws in countries where staff are located;
- Paid Time Off (PTO), comprising 22-30 days plus eleven floating holidays, sabbatical after five years of service, and other leave allowances; and
