Financial Controller

Role Overview:

As the Financial Controller, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial reporting. Your responsibilities will encompass various aspects of accounting, tax, group reporting, and compliance. You will work closely with the finance team, operations, senior management, and external stakeholders to maintain financial controls, optimize the financial reporting processes, and drive sound financial decision-making.


Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the Company’s general ledger accounting and financial reporting policies and procedures in accordance with IFRS and U.S. GAAP.
  • Primary liaison with the auditors for the year-end audit and quarterly reviews.
  • Provides management and auditors with appropriate supporting documentation for quarterly and annual financial statements.
  • Participate in team meetings to review operations and develop/implement strategies to address challenges.
  • Manage the annual and quarterly public company consolidated financial statement preparation to our regulators, management, and board of directors.
  • Participate in the creation of a framework of financial controls under SOX requirements.
  • Participates in month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closings of the consolidated books and records.
  • Review/prepare annual operating budgets and financial projections.
  • Prepare accounting analysis as to the accounting treatment of various transactions and balances.
  • Develop new financial reports that further the company’s understanding of key performance indicators.
  • Drive process improvements to optimize the efficiency of work within the department and to ensure timely, accurate financial reporting.


Requirements:

  • Financial reporting and consolidation experience under IFRS or US GAAP
  • Previous experience in the financial markets industry preferred
  • Strong knowledge of reporting and general ledger systems, such as NetSuite
  • High proficiency in Excel
  • 5 years of progressive experience preferably in a public accounting
  • Dedicated and results oriented, with the ability to learn quickly in a dynamic work environment under tight deadlines
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required, CPA.
