The Role
The Finance Senior Manager will report to the Sr. Director of Finance within the AI Group (AIG) FP&A team. The position will be a finance business partner for our Artificial Intelligence Group, responsible for budgeting and planning, resource allocation as well as ad hoc business support. This is a high visibility role supporting the number one strategic priority at AMD.
The Person
The ideal candidate should have a bias for action, early adopter of new processes/technology/tools and ideas, able to work in fast paced and constantly changing environment as well as comfortable communicating frequently with senior executives. Additionally, we are looking for a teammate with leadership experience that will take ownership of the role, drive improvements in execution, and implement standardized work.
Key Responsibilities

• Provide guidance and mentorship to team members on financial analysis and planning best practices
• Prepare and present financial reports and analysis to senior management and stakeholders
• Support finance activities for inorganic activities
• Develop and maintain financial models to support the AI Group’s planning and forecasting processes
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement financial strategies that align with the AI Group's goals and objectives
• Monitor and report on hiring and spending against monthly goals and objectives, identifying trends and recommending actions to improve outcomes
• Manage the annual budgeting process for the AI Group, including coordinating with business partners to establish financial targets and goals
• Work with business partners to identify and prioritize investment opportunities in AI initiatives, evaluating the financial impact and potential return on investment

Preferred Experience

• Excellent communication skills
• Semiconductor industry experience a plus
• Self-motivated, naturally curious, does not wait for instructions and able to deal with ambiguity
• Proficient at identifying key issues quickly, able to define, perform, and lead analysis with direct reports as well as cross functional influence
• Knowledge of MS Office package. Advance Excel and Financial modeling skills required, experience with SAP, Power BI or SQL a plus
• Strong knowledge of accounting and GAAP principles

Academic Credentials

• Demonstrated ability to develop and manage complex financial models and forecasts
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance or related fields. MBA, CFA and/or CPA a plus
• Progressive experience in relevant Finance roles
