The Finance Manager leads the day-to-day accounting operations, with functional responsibility for bookkeeping, accounting, accounts payable and receivable, payroll, 401(k), vendor relations, online sales integration, budgeting and serving as the tax liaison with outside accountant. Responsibilities also include production of timely financial reports; proper maintenance of accounting records; accurate processing of financial transactions; and administration of a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, and ensure that reported results comply with best business standards. Compliance with deadlines and timely communication are critical requirements of this position.Must be team-focused with an understanding of the bigger picture and how you can contribute. No job is too small.
This is a ¾ time remote position.
Responsibilities:Tracking cash flow and financial planning and analyzing the company's financial strengths and weaknesses and proposing strategic directions in addition:
Accounting, Bookkeeping & Banking
·Maintain system of accounts and keep books and records on all transactions and assets.
·Manage, oversee, and process accounts payable, revenue and expenses, fixed assets, cash, bank reconciliations, and allocations.
· Ensure that all financial transactions are processed accurately, in a timely manner, and in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles. Work closely with Operations Director.
· Balance all online sales, credit card processing – expertise in authorize.net and QuickBooks online.
·Develop, implement, and maintain processes and controls that are current best practices related to transaction processing.
·Administer monthly payroll and 1099 vendor payments; serve as primary point of contact for employee and contractor questions, payroll vendor and 401k provider. Familiarity with Bill.com.
·Lead all banking activities, including cash reconciliation, deposits and withdrawals.
· Perform month-end closing procedures with reporting and updates to CEO.
·Manage all insurance policies and certificates for the organization.
· Manage all 401(k) monthly contributions, year-end profit sharing, etc.
·Prepare and analyze accurate monthly financial and management reports, including income statement, balance sheet, budget and variance, projections and forecast, and cash flow.
· Manage QuickBooks: reporting and reconciliation.
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance or related discipline from an accredited college or university.
· 3 – 5 years of related professional and progressive experience in bookkeeping, accounting, financial planning, reporting and analysis. Working with an online vendor helpful.
· Experience with QuickBooks Online (must have advanced knowledge of software), payroll processing systems, Microsoft Suite, Bill.com, authorize.net, shopping cart integration, DropBox, WooCommerce (via WordPress), Merchant One, MyWorks, etc.
· Demonstrated ability to manage reporting, accounts payable and receivable, fixed assets, payroll, budgeting, invoicing, etc.
