The Corporate Finance team serves as a trusted advisor to the company, informing and guiding critical C-level decisions through insightful analyses & thought partnership. We are looking for a bright, driven individual who will succeed in a fast-paced environment and support our team in making sound recommendations that will allow the company to scale.

Reporting to the CEO, this is a highly visible and key leadership role that is cross-functional in nature and requires collaboration across all Finance, Operations & Strategy functional teams. You will lead a powerhouse team of two/three professionals that will lead long term finance projects, relationships with debt providers, ; present key Operating & Financial metrics to various executive team members; collaborate on the monthly forecasting process; take on high-profile strategic projects for the CEO, and other key decision-makers.

• 🎯 What we’d like you to do

Oversee the financial strategic planning of the company in the US by evaluating its performance and potential risks

Establish financial processes and build-up the US Finance Team in our new Chicago office

Work with the US Sales and Operations leadership team on Financial strategic planning and performance

Ensure timely completion and accuracy of all financial statements and other monthly reports

Participate actively in the process of SAP implementation

Adapt workflows so that they are aligned with Making Science Group processes and deadlines

Solve any financial issues that may occur with clients or providers

Analyze profit margins on all projects and ongoing investments

Manage relationship with our CPA firm

Collaborate with the corporate teams in Madrid

Prepare the company reporting, budgeting, forecasting and risk assessment

Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.

Frequent interaction with the Finance team at the HQ in Madrid to ensure high -quality standards and best practice sharing at the Group level

Identify and resolve accounting and control issues

Audit internal processes in order to improve the speed and accuracy of a monthly

reporting cycle

Achieve budget/forecast objectives by scheduling expenditures; analyzing

variances; initiating corrective actions

Analyze performance and make fact-based recommendations to improve operating

efficiency and effectiveness, projects profitability

Customize reporting tools in response to the Management needs, while driving

standardization and automation

Control over all Intercompany transactions and establish a solid and reliable

process to keep track of them

7-10 years of experience in multinational environments in a position of controller/finance manager

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance

In-depth knowledge of accounting software: preferably SAP (S4/Hana)

Very strong computer skills, particularly with Excel. Desired experience with Google Queries, Power BI

Excellent analytical, forecasting and budgeting skills

Ability to prepare powerful finance presentations

Native in English. Fluent in Spanish would be an advantage

Open for traveling and enthusiastic about different cultures
