The team: Evening Standard features

We are a dynamic, highly creative and enthusiastic team who work to deliver a digital first offering and print product filled with compelling and authoritative fashion, news review, beauty, culture, travel and food coverage.

About you

• You are an experienced fashion writer and editor, with a deep understanding of the changing media landscape,
• You thrive in a collaborative environment and working within a team comes easily to you.
• You are extremely well versed in the fashion industry with a network of strong relationships as well as an established track record of journalistic high achievement,.
• Highly organised, with excellent attention to detail, you can work flexibly when needed. You are comfortable in an ambassadorial role
• You are a voracious ideas generator, and are driven by a search for brilliant fashion features and stories that speak to the Evening Standard reader

Skills and Experience

• Ability to write clean copy with a quick turnaround time
• Extensive experience writing, editing and commissioning in both print and digital at a senior level.
• Eagerness to jump on breaking and trending stories and topics in the fashion industry
• An extensive contacts book, brimming with writers and collaborators
• An established portfolio of published pieces

Styling experience is a plus.

Role purpose

A key ambassadorial role responsible for delivering top quality, on brand fashion content for the Evening Standard’s digital, newspaper and magazine platforms. Includes editing, writing and commissioning all fashion features, trend pages and reviews for the newspaper and the wider digital operation. Building excellent brand relationships and attending and

Key responsibilities and accountabilities

• Liaising with fashion and luxury brands for celebrity talent opportunities.
• Uncovering new talent for features through brands, advertisers and agencies.
• Managing the Evening Standard’s commercial relationships both internally and externally with brand partners, including liaising with Evening Standard commercial on advertisers throughout the year to ensure adequate coverage.
• Writing, editing and commissioning fashion features, reviews and trend pages for digital, newspaper and magazine platforms.
• Coordination of inside profile shoots including some styling duties.
• Working closely with all the relevant print and digital section editors, to ensure needs are met and high standards are achieved across platforms.
• Contribute to the Evening Standard’s social media platforms including show reviews during the collections.
• Be an ambassador for the brand at industry events such as shows, press events, dinners and trips.
• Attending/representing the title at the international women’s and men’s collections, jewelry and watch fairs.
