Job Description

The Department of Management & Entrepreneurship in the W. P. Carey School of Business invites applications to apply for part-time Faculty Associate positions for the Fall 23/Spring 24 semesters to teach LES 305. The successful candidate(s) will teach in-person or online courses, prepare course materials, evaluate student work, and assist students. Faculty Associate positions are one semester, non-benefits-eligible, fixed-term appointments with no tenure implications, not to exceed .20 FTE. The number of courses is contingent upon needs, funding, and sufficient
enrollment. Salary is based upon qualifications and assigned teaching load. Individuals employed as Faculty Associates may not hold multiple,non-benefits eligible appointments at Arizona State University.

Essential Duties

  • Teach field-related online or face-to-face courses to undergraduate students
  • Contribute to the unit's mission in the areas of teaching

Minimum Qualifications

  • A record of scholarship as evidenced by professional experience and/or academic experience within the business management profession or related areas consistent with the topic of the course to be taught, including an active learning agenda, and/or papers, articles, tutorials, or consulting activities.
  • Potential for teaching excellence at the undergraduate level as evidenced by prior experience, organization, and communication skills.
  • A Juris Doctorate degree or related field in Business Management and (7) years related experience; OR, any equivalent combination of experience, and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities have been achieved.

Desired Qualifications

  • Industry and/or academic expertise in one or more of the following sub-areas including Legal Ethics, Law, and organizational change
  • Evidence of a A Juris Doctorate and/or Master's degree or Ph.D. in Business Administration, or related field.
  • Teaching experience at the college or university level
  • Experience with training and industry partnerships
  • Service and professional contributions in business, government, or non-profit

Working Environment

  • Frequently required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform work
  • Clearly communicate to perform essential functions
  • Occasional activities require the ability to quickly change priorities which may include and/or are subject to the resolution of conflicts
  • Regular use of standard office equipment including, but not limited to: computer workstation/laptop (keyboard, monitor, mouse), printer, copier, telephone and associated computer/technology peripherals
  • Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled classroom setting subject to extended periods of standing, lecturing, facilitating classroom activities
  • Occasional bending, reaching, lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 25 pounds
